Sorry !! Sorry !! Paxil made me Crazy.

Posted by Kinderprize on December 6, 2000, at 2:41:18

Yes I have been spreading crap. I am trying to be responsible for my swings. I stopped Effexor as I held that responsible. Still I got crazy and thought it was me, this is just me rabbling to friends, writing my crazy ideas everywhere. Thought I was spreading good things.

Under Psychiatric instruction stopped Paxil few days ago. Everything is clearer now, today. I did'nt know I was high because I was so agitated. I did'nt know what a mixed state was. It's strange to be thrown out so quickly from ones own frames of reference, by things so slight. It's strange to see my crazy writings.

Does having Sicilian blood predispose me to this craziness ?? Why does everyone talk so fast there ? Why is my Father seen as Bipolar now, yet he was just seen as a crazy Italian until very recently ? Is manic depression an illness ? Why are all these classifications for every aspect of behaviour that deviates from the norm existing so quickly. Why are we letting them ?

Yes I'll take the drugs. But these labels. I just don't get it. If one percent of people have manic depression then thats an awful waste of a good classification.
It took a lot of great science to see how manic depression is seperate from Schizophrenia. Maybe it should be put to rest as a consistant morphism inherent to the genetic algorithmn soup of life, spreading a little needed creative cognition in varying degrees.
These classification lose meaning when they say one percent of the population is so called afflicted. How about having a DSM IV of Creative ability as well ?

Going to try to have a context from now on. I reckon the answer is to build a soundproofed cube inside my grand big room. No light, No stress, no connection to reality save some great reliable stuff with complete backup.

Yes.

Ok, maybe. I am one-half Sicilian, and I am convinced that everyone on that side of the family could truly be given a legitimate psychiatric dx. In Sicily, the arguing, laughing, fast talking is considered pretty normal as far as I could tell (as my uncle was talking with both hands and turning around to look at everyone while driving, and the Sicilians were laughing, but the American-Sicilians were scared s**tless). And they also drink a HECK OF A LOT OF WINE over there, and espresso. Plus, warm, fresh goat's milk. So, maybe it is genetic, and we just aren't drinking the right stuff.....

I, unfortunately, never have mania or hypomania, but if I did, I would much prefer the diagnosis of Crazy Sicilian to anything else.

Thank for replying >shar, james, roger, Santaclaus. I really thought I had lost my online ticket seeing as I got thrown of by the brave doctor.
Shar don't ever mix your Sicillian blood with Jewish unless you want to create a complete imtellectual lunatic.

Since stopping paxil I was a fallen rocket today. Got distracted and lost my money. The window looked a good place to jump. I never quite make the suicide bid. The reason I'm so cynical about Psychiatry is for a lot of reasons. When I recently submitted myself to them they nearly finished me off with Neuroleptics and their depressional delusions. The very kind Doctor Finlay gave me Neuroleptics to sleep. I reawakened and the TV in the Wards had a programme on Mad Cow Disease (Its in the meat here in Britain) As soon as I saw this I became convinced I had this condition and collapsed on the floor. Then I believed half the people in the ward did too, and there was a Government cover up. Nurses, relatives could not disuade me. I was terrified, screaming inside to release myself onto the road. The only thing that stopped me was the idea I would survive it and be left crippled for the rest of the few years I had left while my brain rotted and I slowly succumbed to it

My doctor not Pdoc gave me anti depressants. He is really a very stupid doc. Look what happened. Look at the craziness I have spread here. Meanwhile the shrinks are trying to diagnose my complex behaviour and cycles of mood. They are a bit behind in the UK I think. They want to study me as an interesting patient because I dare to challenge everything they assume.

Thats why I had to try internet. Everyone is totally clued on Neurology and Pharmaceuticals.

My view of everything is a complex turmoil. I would'nt wish it on anyone.

Thanks to reading these posts past couple of weeks I have fresh perspective on all mental processes. Each time I lose it lately I feel a more realistic view happening replacing my usual delusions.

I could never understand why no-one took me seriously till recently.

It looks like the pendulum has swung. Dr John Kelsoe of UCSD has found several genes implicated in bipolar disorder, one which is strongly implicated is in the dopamine system and the same gene implicated in schizophrenia- Judy

James here....

While the genes may be the same the condition presents itself totally differently. Decades ago
there were no divisions between different conditions, you were just crazy.

A 'bit'??!

They want to study me as an interesting patient because I dare to challenge everything they assume.

Sounds familiar. I can only speak for UK pdocs but they are the sorriest collection of conceited, ignorant individuals I have ever had the mispleasure of meeting (6 of the buggers @ the last count)

Jah.
