I am currently tacking 225 A day. I am seeing some good results but I was wondering what other people take A day.

I am currently taking 150 mg daily, but I don't seem to have any improvement from it (but then, at least no side effects either).

I am at 150mg/day, but it's only been two weeks. I wasn't currently
in a depression, so I won't know if that's enough until two months
pass. I haven't gone two months without a depression since 1984!

I was taking 225 mg/day, but it made me sooooo tired i could barely keep my eyes open.
Now i'm at 150 mg/day with 300 mg of Lithium.
The first day I started the Lithium I felt a little more energetic, but I think that may have been a placebo effect, because now I'm tired again.
I take 75 mg of effexor in the morning and another 75 mg with the lithium at night.Has anybody had any luck with dosing to alliviate the fatigue?

In reply to Effexor makes me tired... any help?, posted by Christina on October 19, 2000, at 7:10:33
Can't offer any help here, but just wanted to comment that I wish there were some research on why individuals fall into one of the two camps--people for whom effexor is activating, and people for whom it causes tiredness. Perhaps it could lead to a better understanding of the underlying neurophysiology of different types of depression. Perhaps we have differences in which receptors for serotonin or norepinephrin are functional.

Your tiredness could be either because of poor
sleep (caused by Effexor) or because it makes
you otherwise tired. Effexor can also affect your
REM sleep without you being conscious about it.
All SSRI's can potentially do this. I think people
often ignore this possibility when they are tired
due to an SSRI.For the poor sleep, I'd suggest Remeron 7.5-15mg
in the evening 1-2 hours before bedtime. Serzone
is another option, amitriptyline yet another one.If your tiredness is not because of poor sleep,
then i don't really know what would most
probably help. Stimulants could be worth trying,
as well as switching to or augmenting with
bupropion or reboxetine (just guesses).Ask your doctor first, however. I haven't checked
the metabolics, but I know that at least
Effexor and Remeron fit together (been there).
Effexor and
reboxetine is more problematic althought not
too bad.
This is the end of the thread.
