I am taking 400 mgs. of Topamax alone (tried Zyprexa) for Bipolar. I need something to add to it for mood stabilization. I go back to the doctor on Monday. My biggest problem is the ups and downs. I am afraid I am going to fall so low that next time I am not going to pick myself up and keep going. Before that happens, any suggestions on what might help? Lexie

I think you will really like Lamictal (I'm on it)
It has no side-effects in me, and it has the most
antidepressant properties of any anticonvulsant.
I believe that one day Lamictal will replace
Lithium as the drug of choice for Bipolar Disorder.

Thank you for the information. My doc put me on Lamictal today. I have the starter pack don't know yet where the dose will end up. I was thinking of giving up all together, I will give this a try and hope it works for me. I go back in two weeks. Thanks again for sharing your experience, when he mentioned it I had immediatly remembered your post and it helped me to feel comfortable and I was able to respond to his recomendation in a positive way. I will keep you up to date. Lexie
