Risperdal--Any side effects???

Posted by tina on September 24, 2000, at 10:01:58

Hi All:
Doc is giving me risperdal this week and I'm a little nervous. I've been reading that it can cause chest pains and hard breathing.
What can I expect from this drug, anyone??
Thanks as always
Tina

Hi Tina,

The one time I took Risperdal for a few weeks, the only side effect I really felt was the sedation. I felt very Zombie-like - completely emotionless. Right now I take Zyprexa instead and have no problems beside the weight gain.

Thanks for the input Chris. I didn't see it until now, sorry. I have trouble seing one lone post in amongst the thousands. My doc decided that the med wasn't necessary and now I am off AD's completely and am doing really well.
i hope you are reaping the rewards of Zyprexa and it continues to bring you the peace you deserve.
Thanks again C

Hey DJ:
I still take the occasional Benzo when I'm really freaky but other than that, I'm taking nothing at all. BTW, I'm also going through the most stressful crap you can imagine and I'm doing OK. Strange. Thanks for asking though.
I hope you're doing well.
