My doc is moving me off celexa, so that I am only taking effexor xr. He cut the 40mg dosage in half, and plans for me to totally stop on thursday. First day on 20 wasn't bad. But I am curious if anyone has experienced WD effects that I should be prepared for. I have been on Celexa for a year and 2 months.
thanks

For the most part, the ssri withdrawal tends to be moderate with the exception of paroxetine (paxil).
Withdrawal from venlafaxine (effexor) is a whole other story.

> thanksI was on Celexa 40mg for almost 8 months. On July 11,I cut the dose in half for 1 week then stopped taking it altogether as per my doctor's instructions. The w/d effects have been: brain fog which is now lessening;intense dreams which aren't wild as much as they are complicated and exhausting. The doctor told me that these w/d's would fade out within 2-3 more weeks.
Hope this helps you.
