I have Fibromyalgia too. It is encouraging to hear that Vioxx helps, but I suppose that is a new med and therefore a very expensive med. (I pay for meds out of pocket.) My fibro is very severe. I took MSM for awhile with great results, but the benefits just petered out after a couple months. That was very discouraging. I hope you continue to do well.

Hey Jane here~ I dont know how expensive vioxx is because my Doc gave me samples only because i pay for meds. out of my pocket too. I guess i will see how much it is next month when i need more. I hope you find what works for you because I suffered with FM for 3 years before i found a med. that worked for me. It was horrible! ~JaneJ.

Vioxx is:(Quote)
CLINICAL PHARMACOLOGY
Mechanism of Action
VIOXX is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug that exhibits anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic activities in animal models. The mechanism of action of VIOXX is believed to be due to inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis, via inhibition of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2). At therapeutic concentrations in humans, VIOXX does not inhibit the cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) isoenzyme.
I have a friend with FM and I will pass this info on to her.
