..........East coast? Or do you mean "generic" ocean? Silly me - I don't know if all oceans have lobsters??

> Kath hon, I think you're living the life I want. Have a great time on the Bruce Trail. I've heard it's fantastic. Janice.........Hey, ya gotta take the package though! That means a 16 year old son.......who's being a pain in the butt. (See my separate thread of today.) I AM trying to make a point of doing good things for myself & my husband & I want to try to fit in quality-time for the 2 of us. We love hiking & it's an inexpensive, healthy thing to do & we're pretty close to parts of the Bruce Trail - Orangeville, Hockley Valley etc. Our life is pretty much Stress City with our son right now, so we need to balance that. We had a great weekend (til we got back home).
Take care, Janice. Kath

Hi harry b. - I've heard of Vernon, B.C. Knew someone (not very well) who lived there. I think it's in tree-covered mountainy-type country. I think it's very beautiful.

Thanks Kath-I have a new 'net friend who lives near there.
Could this be the beginnings of one of those 'net
romances we hear about? Stay tuned.Of course we're only about three thousand miles
apart :) does love really conquer all? Even great
distances? Who knows, but it's kind of a novel
feeling, so I'll enjoy it while it lasts.I've travelled a bit of Canada. Quebec, Ottawa,
Toronto (ugh), Banff & Jasper & Lake Louise, Edmonton,
Vancouver, etc. So I guess I came pretty close to
Vernon.

It's on the edge of the Okanagan Valley - orchard, lake and dessert country in the middle of Super, Natural B.C. - the most beautiful and mountainous province in Canada.
Town is about 30,000 or so I think, somewhat agricultural, touristy, crunchy-granola economy. Nice ski hill nearby and very nice lake. Approx 300 miles to Vancouver which is the closest major city and the third biggest in Canada.
Hot, hot, hot this time of year...

Still, we took turns driving on the weekend to spend time together & he ended up driving out to my place more often than vice versa. But, boy, did I get sick of that drive!! Anyway it was worth it because he's a pretty nifty guy!!
Enjoy! Kath

hi harry, yes Vernon is in a very beautiful part of the world, and it has one of the best climates in this country (which doesn't say much). It has skiing, lakes, mountains, hot summers, pretty mild winters.
hey, watch what you say about Toronto eh!
In short harry, if you get an invite, say YES!

Hi Kath, lobsters are in the Atlantic ocean. Crabs are in the Pacific. Although I'm sure you're right, somewhere in the Pacific ocean, there are probably lobsters - just not in Canada. My grandfather was a lobster fisherman - hence all my knowledge. My mother said they were poor but grew up eating lots of lobsters. My family celebrates July 1st with lobsters.
Sorry to hear about your son. I would love to help you, but I have no advice to offer you. It has been so long since I have been young, and doing drugs.
I have to say, I like your style, Janice

> I have to say, I like your style, JaniceHi Janice - I love the ocean. I've never been to our East Coast but would love to one day. Our family went to California & I just fell in love with the ocean; especially up around Salt Point area where there were hardly any people around.
You know, the main thing I think I need about my son is simply the support. I've received some good advice-type posts, which I really appreciate, but I also appreciate just knowing that some of the people who I post back & forth with have me in their thoughts....it means a tremendous amount to me. I'm going to post an up-date in the Yucky home-coming thread. If you're interested you can check there.
Thanks for your thoughts. How are you doing? Hope things are good for you, or at least okay!

Ahem, some parts of the Atlantic Seabord are known for their crabs and crab related foods, and the folks there are extremely proud of crabbing, so they might be a bit taken aback to hear that there aren't crabs in the Atlantic.

time for a shameless plug for my small web page.
http://www.geocities.com/cxim/
Most lobsters are spiny type & do not have claws.
They go from Calif to Florida, New Zeland, China, & Africa.
Kind of a hobby of mine. Lots of pics of the different types.

thanks cindy,
I have never gotten an opinion from an unbiased eval. only from friends that had to say they liked it.
PS: the only reason I mentioned my pic was to warn folks with small kids so they would not be frightened.
Sorry I left that part out before.
What do lobsters have to do with psych & meds ? bless all little.
Onward to the day, where we just get up & go out the door to another happy day of life.

Hi, I enjoyed your webpage VERY much. I'm glad your picture was on! (And hey, you're not the least bit scarey!).
I have questions:
Is it your boat?
Is Cozumel part of Mexico, an island, or what? (geographically ignorant me). Can you tell me more about it? My husband & I went to Barbados in Feb. & loved it but it's super-expensive. So in the amazing event that we'd have enough money to go somewhere warm-beachy-sunny-oceany again, I'm always interested in hearing about places. We like peace & quiet; few people; deserted places to walk; safety; possibility of vegetarian food (at least the ability to buy & cook our own); possibility of having an apartment-type accomodation or something with cooking facilities? (What do I think you are? A travel agent?)
Were you looking down into the water off your boat at the barracuda? It looked pretty dangerous.
The pictures were various things, including interesting, beautiful, informative & fun - not all of them were all those things :-)That was fun. Let me know if you add more photos.

Kath,
you asked a lot of questions. lol
My boat ? one or 2 pics are of my boat. Bloody Mary was mine !
Cozumel is an island off the coast of Yucatan, Mexico. It is Mexican. One of the cheaper vacation spots. The boat in the Cozumel pics is a dive trip boat, not mine. Appartments are available there. They also have an open market every morning where fresh veggies are sold.
safe ? was for us. Mex police like to keep it that way for touristas. There are usually travel packages available from travel agents.
It is a party place but there are long stretches of secluded beach & wonderful water.
The barracuda ? I was in the water with him ! they just look fearsome. The in the water pics are by me, from the FL keys, around Marathon.

Take care,
