Suzanne's interests...

Posted by CarolAnn on June 12, 2000, at 19:31:36

Cam, I know you have the bursary set up, but I wondered if there were any particular interests of Suzanne's which we could implement in our own communities to celebrate her intrinsic self. For example, my church has a memorial garden and I would like to add something, a favorite flower, or ornament, something that evokes Suzanne's personality. Please take your time, and let me know if this is even something you would want to happen. Bless you! CarolAnn

CarolAnn - Suzanne loved children and animals. She was a volunteer at an nusring home. She had reached the top level of Girl Guides (Pathfinders) before becoming a Junior Leader. She had babysat 1/2 of the city. She was on the College Student Council (General Assembly). She belonged to a Christian group called Young Life. She loved roses (but not red ones - I think that is because of a boyfriend). She loved Florida (from a previous trip). She loved candles and has an extensive collection. She dried every flower that she ever received (petals everywhere). Her room was still a mess (as always). She was loved by many (as evinced by 600 people showing up to her funeral).

Anything to do with any of this would be nice. My wife had requested at the funeral (through the friend who gave the euology) that in memory Suzanne, she would like everyone to go home and hug their kids. That would be enough for us.

Thanks CarolAnn. - Love Cam

P.S. - We have heard through the driver's insurance company that the driver has set up a memorial to Suzanne at the accident site (Poinciana Bvld at the Clarion Resort World). If you or any of your friends see it could you send us a description via e-mail; it would be appreciated. Thanks - C.

Cam, I'll do better then a description, I'll go out there and see if I can get a picture of the memorial.
Then I'll just need an address to send it to.
Bless you and your family, and if you can think of anything I could do to comfort Suzanne's mother, let me know. Love, CarolAnn

CarolAnn - You made my wife cry. She (and I) would love a picture of the memorial. E-mail me and I will e-mail you back with my address (I think I'm getting paranoid by not posting it).

As for her mother, I doubt that I will ever hear from her again and, outside of a phone number that is routinely being disconnected, I have really no way of contacting her. Your thoughts are probably the only help that she would accept, anyway. The offer was very nice of you.

Thank you so much. There is no hurry to do this, just when you have time. Sincerely - Cam

> Cam, Suzanne sounds wonderful. The kind of kid I'd love to have, like anyone would dream of having. Your description of her made her become so real for me.

I don't have any children, but I will hug my little neice and nephew I live with. For her love of animals, I think I will feed my dog a chicken dinner (his favourite).

Take care Cam, Janice

ps I have never heard of a funeral this large. She must have been well loved by many people.
