Don't know why, but have been unable to post for three days (get error messages: javascript error, then "no connection" even though the connection is there, and then "No Name--go back," which wipes out my message.) Tried switching to a different version of Netscape and now it works (the earlier version must be somehow corrupted). Has anybody else had this problem?

P.S. Switching from Netscape 3.04 to Netscape Communicator seems to have helped; perhaps the Netscape files were corrupted (hope AOL didn't do it to get me to upgrade). Ran virus checks, to no avail. Can't reinstall the software because (thanks to fights with W98) my cd rom still won't let me install software (although it plays music; go figure!).

Cindy,
When I was using earlier versions of Netscape I was constantly getting Java script errors that made it impossible to navigate certain sites. The latest versions seem to have addressed this issue by using a 128-bit engine. I always keep my systems upgraded with the latest and greatest software (although Windows 98 really sucks... Sorry Bill, I know the truth hurts).I'm glad you were able to get the problem fixed, I would miss you if you weren't out here! I always enjoy reading your posts, your input has helped me on more than one occasion.
Have a peaceful day,

Greg, you're so right about W98 sucking! My cdrom and printer haven't worked right since I installed W98 (that's why I hated to switch to Communicator; there are always problems every time I upgrade anything, with my old Frankenstein PC). Your post made my day.--Cindy
