i have just begun on the mood stabilizer neurontin after having problems handling my dosage of effexor xr (made me manic). i am still on the effexor (75 mg.) and the neurontin is supposed to stabilize my mania. this morning i woke up with tingling in two of my fingers on my left hand and after a while i couldn't feel the tips of them. then suddenly it went away about an hour after it had started. now i just have an ever so slight tingling. anyone had this experience? it could be totally unrelated to the drug i guess. plus, this has happened to me before in my left leg. that happened before i had ever started taking meds. does anyone know what this could be? thanks.

Kate, I doubt it was caused by the neurontin. 100mg is a very small dose. In addition, you said you you experienced the numbness in the morning. Neurontin has a very short half life. It only lasts for about four hours, so if you noticed it when you woke up it was probably caused by something else. Most likely it had fallen asleep because of some pressure on a nerve in your arm.

>Interesting enough, I too experienced numbness and tingling in my hands and fingers after I started taking neurontin. It would go away after about an hour once I got up and started moving around. It actually took about 7 month before it stopped. I am on a much higher dose though than 100 mg. I take 600 mg. 3 times .

100 mg is a very small dose, but each of us reacts differently to meds.
