Cass, I think maybe we are taking the same meds. In your posts you mentioned Celexa and a stimulant. Right now I am taking Celexa and Adderal together. This combo seems to work pretty good. If the Celexa caused weight gain, then the Adderal would prevent that since it suppresses appetite and speeds up the metabolism. If the stimulant made you dysphoric, then the Celexa would counteract that. I feel pretty good now, but it took me awhile to figure out the right dose of adderal. Only problem is that my social anxiety has not improved much. I was on Nardial before which helped a lot but caused terrible weight gain. Since I got off the Nardil and switched to Adderal I have lost about 18lbs in two months.

Hi DC,
We were taking the same stuff. I just couldn't handle the Adderall. It brought up too much frustration and anger. I had discontinued Celexa, but the doc told me to take it again to try to counter the agitating effects of Adderall. It didn't seem to help me. Now, I am trying Ritalin and Effexor XR. I started Effexor a few days ago, and the Ritalin today. I sure am glad the Adderall is working for you. Once while on Adderall, I had a drink or two, OMG did I feel good (I am not recommending that. I was just desperate.) But if you feel the way I felt then, congratulations! Good luck. Keep us up to date on how you're feeling.

Thanks for responding to my post, Cass. I can't say I feel great on the Celexa /Adderal combination. But I'm still working on getting the dose right. I seem to be very sensitive to the Adderal. I can't take more than 2.5mg at a time without feeling really weird. I was getting a good response from Neurontin which really helped with my social phobia, but it doesn't seem to mix well with the adderal. Eventually I may go back to just the neurontin, but right now I am enjoying the increased energy and cognitive enhancement from the Adderal.
