Hope this post goes through. Have been put on 30 mg. of remeron for anxiety, and have been on it for a little over a week. The biggest problem in the sedating effect it leaves with me up until the middle part of the day. Will this goes away? I have problemn taking meds because of the side effects. Was on paxil, then on serzone, but didn't like the weight gain, sexual dysfunction, etc. It seems like my heart races more than usual since on this and didn't know if this was just something I would have to tolerate until I become adjusted to the med. Any help would be appreciated. JoAnn

Perhaps your doctor will let you increase the doeseage--with this drug, paradoxically, the sedation seems to disappear somewhat as you increase the dose. As for your heartrate, you might mention that to your doctor--I can't remember what neurotransmitters Remeron acts on, but if it includes norepinephrine, that could be the cause of it, and it probably won't disappear; you'll have to get used to it. When I was on reboxetine, one of the disconcerting side-effects was an increased heart-rate, due to the effect on NE.

JoAnn,
Have you been eating more or has the weight increased without a change in your eating habits.
Interested because I don't think I've received a
straight answer on the weight gain issue.Sassy

Thanks for clearing that up. Besides the hunger thing, I am wondering if there is a chemical thing
causing some people to gain weight.Dyserel or Tradazone layed me out cold, but I really fight trying to stay alive the next day.
This put my racing mind to a halt. This may be
better for you.I take Effexor for my depression and it keeps
me pretty mellow. I am not all stressed out like
before. It made me sleepy at first, but then
my body got use to it. My doctor told me to
take 1/2 tablet of 15 mg of Remeron because I'd
wake up 5 or 6 times a night. I still wake up
but only once or twice. The main thing is I'm
not all worn out in the morning.I originally was hungry big time, but that has
now gone away. I don't know if it was a reduction
of the Remerson, or my body getting use to everything.Sassy
