Question about reality

Posted by Phil on April 28, 2002, at 8:40:35

Have I done more harm than good by posting on admin? I have no regrets but is this the time to let it go?
I'm an ACOA and pretty much avoid fights at all cost. People get their way over me w/o a fight.
I have never argued this much about anything.
This thing got to me.
I think it's time to let it go but on this issue, I really don't know if I can. But if that's for the best, I'll find a way.
I don't see how Dr Bob does this.

Phil,
Exactly what I have been wondering.

I think it is time to stop responding, at least for me. It's just gotten to the point of cycling around the same issues, except people are more upset. I certainly have been wanting to blow off some steam on the issue. But, last night I decided that I would not respond or even look at the admin board for a while. My plan was to ask people here to let me know if it looked like Dr. B was going to take a vote on whether or not to keep it, because I'd want to be in on that.

I agree 100% about how Dr. B does this. I think he is way more distant from it, and does not take things personally.

Remember when boBB was rabble rousing on PSB? It feels to me that's what's occurring on the admin board to some extent. Lots of content, not much substance.

So, I'm staying over here or on PSB for a while. Let me know if anything happens!

Shar

Thanks, Shar. You can really be a voice of reason. I need to stay away. Supposed to be 93 or higher today. I don't even want to see it.

Hi Phil!
I kind of liked your post but just forget about it, it's not worth getting upset about. It's SO easy to fall into 'the trap' of getting into it with certain people, actually I never remember you doing it, but I know I have. So RELAX, enjoy the heat- it's only 70 here (and this is so. California) I'm jealous- Take care of yourself- Judy

Do you like it? Once a year I take my son and now the baby up to the mountains (maybe 45 minutes) and let him play in the snow while I sit in the car with the heat on. Just leave me at the beach..... Judy

I'm in Ottawa, Canada. It looks like Christmas outside. The damned snow plow actually went by this morning. The trees are all bogged down and there isn't a hint of green in sight. It's f88king disgusting. I don't mind snow in the winter but it's almost May for God's sake. It just makes me even more depressed than I already am. I have to clean off the car and that's going to take me at least a half hour and the plow 'bank' at the end of the driveway has got to be at least a foot high. This sucks.

The joys of living in eastern Ontario. The weather is just plain stupid in the spring.

I'll trade ya for the snow....

I actually do fine in snow. The difference between being hot vs. cold is you can dress for the cold and stay warm (I've lived in cold places before). With the heat, you can't do anything to stay cool when it is 102 degrees F. In that kind of heat, you walk out the door and are covered in sweat (and the humidity helps that happen).

My makeup (when I wear some) just washes away; it's like a steam facial from the inside out.

Even when I was younger it was pretty hard to look nice for work or something with big ol wet marks on your clothes/neck/etc.

Then, once inside a building, the air conditioning is always set to about 58 degrees F, so the sweat freezes on ya....

Whew, I'm in a whining mood today, apparently.

I'm spoiled rotten. I wouldn't live anywhere BUT so Cal- beaches, mountains with snow all within an hour- and it's 75 and sunny today. But I've paid my dues, try Minnesota for 8 years, it snowed 7 inches on May 31st once!!! Take care, Judy

Ottawa beats that Judy. We got 30 cms on June 6th in '94. But, I wouldn't trade where I live for California for a million bucks. I love Canada for all its seasons and crazy weather. I couldn't stand unending sun and warm weather. I'd be bored out of my skull.

And actually am glad since we're bursting at the seams here and the AVERAGE house goes for half a million bucks. But I really was affected by winter, I had SAD before it was fashionable and was part of one of the first huge light experiments. When I miss fall I drive about 1/2 hr. to mountains at 7000 feet, and I'm 15 minutes from the beach- I'm staying but aside from hubby and kids the rest of my family lives out east. Take care- Judy
