Well, I finally got my hands on some Reboxetine (all legit, with much help from my p-doc). I've been on it about 10 days now, currently up to 8mgs daily, split in two doses.
1) Lightheadness (dizziness) each time dose increased, went away after a few days.
2) Serious insomnia, using tranqs for the moment. P-doc wants to use sedating antidepressants, but for the moment I don't want to confuse results from combined ADs. At least the tranqs are a known, if not pleasant, quantity.
3) Heavy-duty constipation. Resorting to usual OTC methods. On the bright side, I save some time in my usual morning routine.
4) Loss of libido, impotence. Since I don't feel like being around people, this is not at the moment a dealbreaker.
Sadly, I cannot report mood improvement. I still don't give a damn about anything, avoid social contact, not being a "productive member" of society. I've only been up to the 8mgs for a few days, so I realize I have to give it another month to evaluate. Just thought I'd share progress with everyone who's been interested in Reboxetine.
Film at 11, except for item # 4 above, which is either too sad or too bad to display.

Hang in there. I can appreciate the sense of urgency to see some change (many posts from me reflecting this). It has been too short to make a judgment.

That dealbreaker line was great. I hope it kicks in for you soon-it seems like such a promising drug.
I can relate to that heavy duty constipation. Over the years, I think I was a major contributor to Senokot's ad campaign. Their prices are ridiculous so I am open to other alternatives.Good luck,
Phil

Impotence and decreased libido with reboxetine? I guess that puts any serotonin theories of sexual dysfunction with ssris in question. There must be something else going on we don't understand yet. jamie

Every (male) user of Reboxetine that has posted here (myself included) has experienced impotence for the first ~ 10 days or so upon starting the drug. The drug definitely constricts peripheral blood flow for a while. It gets better , though.

> i had a very strange reaction to reboxetine, the longer i took it the more depressed i became. what a drag, georgeI wonder if this one is going to end up like Serzone or Moclobemide, where we see fairly frequent reports of people getting more depressed. When these drugs work good, it's great. But it seems some more than others tend to have more complaints of worsened depression. Hope Reboxetine doesn't turn out to be one of them.
I do follow these Rebox posts with great interest, so keep em coming! thanks, JohnL

I felt a little more depressed (crying jags, etc.-- which I don't experience otherwise) after 3-4 weeks on reboxetine, so I stopped taking it. I suffer from lack of interest, not sadness, so I was surprised to get sad from an antidepressant. The only thing that makes me energetic and productive seems to be Nardil, which also makes me much too fat so I can't use it. I am going to try selegiline starting in a few days. (tricyclics, SSRIs, NSRIs haven't worked, and ampetamines (i.e., Ritalin) work but give me headaches and nervousness).
This is the end of the thread.
