My doctor tole me there is work going on to seperate the
active isomer (molecular form) of prozac from the mirror image isomer,
which is thought not to do anything to help depression, but to give side
effects. This I gather is a few years away, has anyone else heard of this
news? Maybe there's a prozac on the horizon without the
sexual side effects...wouldn't that be great?

fluoxetine that is part of the anitdepressant
effect of the current prozac formulation when your
body metabolizes the drug.As for side effects, there are probably less with
this new formulation, but any drug that binds to
the serotonin re-uptake sites will likely cause the
common side effects of that class of medications. I think
The drugs need to evolve towards neuropeptide systems
and modifying genetic process before we will see a real
lowering of side effects...Sean.
