> Living as a streetkid you are exposed to a lot of rather wierd things that do not fit any description. I explored and tested the waters while looking for love and acceptance. Eventually friendship and love overwhelmed me and made me a content heterosexual man. I find that it fits me well more and more each and every day.

Before I had intercourse with a woman a man drugged me and had sex with me when I was a freshman in college. I paniced and had sex with the first female that would have me. Then after studying in France I stayed to avoid going to Vietnam. I had no money so I sold myself for a shower, a warm bed and a meal. It seemed like a good deal at the time. In graduate school, my best friend so impressed me with his impeccable values and honesty. I admired and loved him. We went out to dinner together after graduating and he told me he was gay. It was one of the biggest compliments of my life that he shared this knowing I would accept him as he is. For 30 years I've been exclusively heterosexual but keenly aware of my bisexual past.

Hello :-)

I'm sorry to hear that you've had some very difficult experiences in your life.

>For 30 years I've been exclusively heterosexual but keenly aware of my bisexual past.

Were you ever really attracted to men apart from your best friend?

Regards,
Ed.

Of course there are, we're everywhere!!!!

I don't post often so I didn't want to 'intrude' on your thread, but I realized it is important for everyone to be counted. And more importantly for everyone to feel that they're not alone.

I don't think so, Ed. I'm mostly competitive with men. Most of my friends are women. Male physiques don't excite me like women's do. But are any of us professed heterosexual men truely honest about this?

Kinsey scale

I just saw the movie "Kinsey" over the weekend and have been thinking about his scale of 0 to 6. You score a 0 if you're 100% absolutely, positively, hetero, and 6 if you are 100% absolutely, positively homosexual.

Most people fall between the two. I just wonder how many 0s there are in the world and how many 6s? I count myself as a heterosexual, but I would probably score a 1.5 on the scale. I think this must be how it is with most self-proclaimed heterosexuals. But I find many heterosexuals very militant about scoring a 0, especially the women I know!

Does anyone think it is the same with most gay people? I'm sure there are some 6s out there, but I wonder if the average would fall somewhere in the 5s?

Any thoughts?

Hi!

I suppose I'd be a 5.

>But I find many heterosexuals very militant about scoring a 0, especially the women I know!

Especially the men I know! I think that men generally seem to be more homophobic than women. For some hetero men, being thought of as possibly being gay is apparantly the worst thing in the world!

Hi crushed!
Sorry to pop into this thread and interrupt. I'll only be a minute. I survived my first week back in the work-a-day trenches. Wasn't bad, really. How are you doing with your own return to the office scene? Atticus

Wow!
I've realized that I have absolutely no idea where I am on the scale. I used to think I was hetero, but as a transgendered person what does that even mean? I think, trying to be honest with myself, that I must be a 3. At least a 3 is within 3 points of being correct whatever I am.

my return to the work world was pretty smooth. i think it's actually been pretty good for me, although it's reminding me also why i don't want to do it long-term. and the beauty part is I DON'T HAVE TO!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA! sorry. just a little manic. didn't mean to rub that in.

i'm very glad you're alive and kicking.
