SANDY,
I COULD TELL FROM THE OTHER NIGHT AND CONTINUING, THAT YOU ARE REALLY HURTING. I WISH YOU WOULD ACCEPT HELP FROM THOSE WHO CAN HELP YOU. SOMETIMES I THINK PROBLEMS GET TOO BIG FOR BABBLE ALONE. THAT'S WHEN I THINK IT IS SO HELPFUL TO HAVE A PDOC OR A T. WOULD YOU CONSIDER "HIRING" A PROFESSIONAL TO HELP YOU OUT? YOU COULD CONSIDER THEM TO BE A COACH OR A CONSULTANT FOR YOU IN PROBLEM-SOLVING.
REGARDLESS, PLEASE TAKE CARE.

michaelrobert:
Would you mind elaborating on your comment? I am curious to know whether I correctly understand it.I don't deny that Trucker is trying to be helpful through being realistic. I think Trucker is a wise woman who's faced a lot of demons herself and knows of what she speaks!
I think what you mean is that if a person is buoyed up to a certain point, perhaps by support such as we give here, they won't ever sink low enough to reach out for the help they really need. I divorced my husband because of that very principle, among other reasons. Unfortunately, he still hasn't hit rock bottom in the way that you hope will force someone to seek proper help.
I truly don't know why Sandy won't get the kind of help we all think she needs and that puzzles and disturbs me greatly. We email off of Babble. I don't know her "diagnosis"; I don't know the other circumstances of her situation. But I do know that, whether she is "acting out" to get attention or truly as bad as she sounds, she is legitimately hurting and in a very bad place in her life. Support, encouragement & "email friendship" are what we offer to her. Could this really be impeding her from picking up the phone for help or admitting herself into a psych hospital?
Any suggestions? She's taken herself off of Babble. We'll see what happens. I hope it all turns out for the best, as I hope the same for the rest of us who are struggling with mental illness or because of it.

Don't worry about the ex, we actually have a very decent relationship due to our daughter. He's a nice guy, but exasperating and the best is that he's not really my problem anymore ... relief!

I think the problem with 2 id's is switching back and forth between 2. I don't think that's happening with trucker and trucker627. I think that's just an id change.
Heck, maybe I'm just just watching too many detective shows. Especially that one on Sunday night with Vincent D'Onofrio...he is so gorgeous! Ok, that cheered me. :-)
I think I'll spend my summer vacation in search of that man. Em

Sorry, you guys can't have him, he's my own private fantasy: the intelligent man who sees everything. I'm hoping he can figure me out. But.. of course, I'd have to commit a crime first.. Sorry, you'll have to find someone else.

Well, I'm sure there is a logical explanation for Bob's post. Maybe Trucker felt unwelcome in Open under her own name? If that's the case, that's just dang awful. Everyone should feel welcome there. I feel like crud about this. I shoulda minded my own beeswax! (duh...hind sight)
I'm so sorry Trucker, Michael, Sandy, Bob, Simus, LynnDa, JLynn, and everyone else.
I need a vacation.

> Em<<<<<< I think there is a logical explanation for Bob's post, likely involving the 627. That's the name Bob directed his instruction to, he could have directed it to "Michael." But regardless, even if they were all the same person, I agree you shouldn't feel bad about anything Emmy. You've got to know many had strong opinions they would have liked to express, but it wrapped up and passed quickly. And given a choice, people often just prefer not to get involved. And then poof, it was addressed and over.
NOW. About Vince baby. I don't follow any TV series or celebrity stuff, but recently happened upon that show and was also, like, way totally knocked out by him. I thought maybe it was just me -- I should have known better. And ya know whose mannerisms/inflections/eccentricities his remind me of? John Malkovich. That's a good thing.
Anyway, shoo girls (and guys for that matter!). I don't say this often, but I think I want this one. ;- )

well, if you get mr. d'onofrio, then i call chevy chase, paul simon, billy bob thornton (sling blade era, thank you) and kevin spacey (and can i throwin vince vaugh every once in a while? that bad-boy image drives me crazy)!!!!
so, i'll allow you to have mr d'onofrio (EVEN though i've been recording that series since i was in diapers, which was just a few years ago i think) because i care spoc. but, now you have to fight emmy for him and i have a feeling she isn't going to give up that easily. but, DO KNOW, if anyone (and i MEAN anyone) tries to take mr chase, mr paul simon, mr thornton, mr spacey OR mr vaugh (when i'm ready to play with him) from me, the claws will come out and i'll capture mr d'onofio just for spite.
so spoc, have at him. he's all yours. but, he seems to be a romantic, so try to catch him by showing your class, charm and sensitive side. it may help to commit a crime too (which i'd consider doing just to capture that man :)

<<<<< YEAH I hear you, I mean I don't know what the chances are she'll hand over a man when I can't even get her to hand over the Fritos. She held the bag out and everything, I even went and got a soft drink. How gullible I was. Geez, what is it with this place? I'll wait and wait, then I suppose next I'll get some answer like this, with all those dots after it:
"I think it's good to be flexible..."
"Sometimes another crunchy snack will do just as well..."
"I'm sorry, what was the question?"
ENOUGH! I'll just go make a voodoo doll out of tofu and stick pins in it, then she'll have a mysterious tummy ache and I'll get ALL the Fritos... AND the man! (Pity how tummy upset can throw off those romantic moments.)

Oh...well....fine...!
Eat the fritos hon, but I'm doing something along those same lines with a certain Vincent. ;-)
And regarding the voodoo tofu doll, probably best to use the pre-marinated, pre-baked kind else it shan't hold it's shape well. You KNOW how I love giving advice!
And regarding ruining my future romantic moments...dot...dot...dot...I haven't had one of those since the Beatles were together. No amount of intestinal discomfort you can throw at me via your voodoo will do anything except perhaps peel the paint from my walls. :-)

Welllllllll, I'll think about it.... I might not be all that hard to bargain with. I mean, I could ALSO go for a man like Dick Solomon (John Lithgow in "Third Rock From the Sun"). SO! Obviously there *may* be hope for y'all that a few good ones will be left over when my smoke clears.
NOW -- talk about classics. Here's one that is so hands-off to you that I prohibit you from even saying (or writing) his name:
