True, there are some awfully suggestive looking mushrooms. I think Tori Amos used them on an album cover once to good effect, but I might be mistaken.

I would argue that a cucumber is a fruit.

When you say vegetables, I think potato, turnip, rutabaga, you know, the tuber family. Dull as that short, pudgy, yet nice and dependable guy one feels guilty for not desiring.

Well Mango the word isn't actually japanese » Ted

I must correct that.. The Japanese word for mango which I don't know, offhand, apparently translates into English as Sex Fruit.
As for the reason it didn't writhe in esctasy didn't we already discuss your little approach problem.
Something Bohemian like 'Hell ah just take a big ol'bite'
Then again, after seeing some of the xxx sites those ones that seem okay but then a whole bunch of really gross (far to mild a word) windows open and refuse to close) Taken a big ol'bite might just cause someone out there to at writhe in ecstacy.

Of course you could be 18 and not know all the songs from Grease off by heart. Which is nothing to be proud of... it just sort of happened....

Someone thought I might be 18. It was probably when I was 14. :) I'm 30. And I used to LOVE Grease. I used to have the double record (in fact I shouldn't say HAD, I still have it, just saw it when we moved!!) I would put a scarf in my hair and dance around in my room and sing it. As you said, nothing to be proud of, just happened. I had John Travolta posters and Ricky Shroder posters plastering my walls. (Also Chachi) Hey... what can I say, I was a boy-crazy, banana lovin' kid. :)

Imagery is a personal thing so if you associate mangoes with sex then mangos are sexy. I grew up eating the things, I picked them off the trees in our yard on a daily basis. I did not think them perfumy or sexy, they were sweet and savory and I would gobble them with selfish fervour but no sex imagery was involved.

Thunk~! Well I guess I'll always find em sexy.
But what you said reminds me of a great reality check that happened in College a couple of years ago, when the "back to the earth spirituality for white folks" was at its peak

A Young native man was in my class and mentioned how he'd been brought up with herbal remedies and drumming. Our instructor ooh'd and ahh'd about how fortunate he was. He said "oh ya right, all the other kids got to watch videos and eat taco chips, and my Dads goin' here have a bite of this tree!" Its all perspective

Ok I have to add one more bit about mangoes.......

My husband ordered a Hawaiian music tape which arrived today (he is very into Hawaiiana). He was interested in a particular song and played it for me. It goes like this (I swear I didn't make this up):

My heart does the tango
With every little move you make
I love you like a MANGO
Wish we could make it every day

I want you to
Drop baby drop baby drop
Gotta drop all your love on me
Drop baby drop baby drop
Drop 'cause I'm hungry

When I heard it I had to literally LOL.

BTW, the song is Drop Baby Drop by Mana'o Company

(and "drop" refers to the fruit dropping from the tree, in case that was confusing)
