I hate that feeling of being prepared to go in and knowing just exactly what you need to discuss and then having the rug pulled out from under you. Will you share those cookies with me?

Aw GG, I'm sorry. I know that can be such a crappy feeling. The day before and the day of my appt I've lately been SO afraid that the phone will ring and inform me of a cancellation. Actually, I was on campus yesterday and I happened to stroll by the lot where my T parks, and her car wasnt there! So now I'm worrying, thinking of possibly scenarios, and on pins and needles that I wont get to see her tomorrow. Not a great feeling.

At least you were able to reschedule. I hope it goes well.

And...cookie therapy! Sounds great!

Hi GG,

Put in extra chips for more emotional healing power. I like Daisy's idea of bringing some to your T, I'd rather eat cookies than chicken soup anyday.

My therapist keeps changing our appointment time. It's beginning to really annoy me. It's like she knows she can take advantage of my unemployment and give other clients preference. I wouldn't be so mad about it, but I called her to talk about my cat and she said, can you do me a favor and come at 1 instead of 11 tomorrow? We did talk about my sadness, but still...

Save some cookies for me.

Hmm, I never thought about bringing him cookies. I've never given him anything at all. I think that might feel weird, but it might be an interesting experiment...

Thanks for the support.

I can feel my hubby shuddering from afar....

Take care sweetie.

I'm not on campus this semester as I've finished all of my coursework. But when I have the appt. first thing in the a.m. or first after lunch, I always look for his car.

I hate feeling this dependent. I know it's getting better, but the timing of this one just stinks.

thanks for your support,
gg

Hi Poet,
I can't put in extra chips, because (looks sheepish) I use the Toll House break apart things. I love to eat one or two of the little squares before baking, too. And I started putting the finished cookies in the freezer thinking that would keep me from eating too many. Would you believe I found I really like them frozen? HA!

About your changing appt. times. I can see how your T might feel free to do this since your schedule is more flexible. But I think there is risk that it could damage the relationship some. You have just as much right to feel that you have a stable arrangement and just as much right for consistency. And changing that day! Ugh, it feels like an afterthought. I don't think I would like this at all. I would feel a bit second-class. Have you had a chance to talk to her about this?

The nerve!!!

Still... Mine tends to come in when sick, especially for my appointment I think. And frankly if he's going to sit there with his nose running or hacking up goodness knows what or nearly asleep from fever, I'd rather he stay home and take care of himself. So perhaps you should consider it a mixed ill wind.

The receptionist said that he said no one would want to be in the same room with him, so it sounds like he was pretty bad. Glad yours is a workhorse as far as making sure you get seen. Perhaps you could tell him you'd rather he keep his germs at home?

Thanks,
gg

Last time he was coughing so hard that my emetophobia kicked in. I sat there most of the session thinking that if he barfed, I couldn't keep him as a therapist.

And I couldn't tell him because that would have given him an easy way to get rid of me. :)

LOL!

Wow, talk about awful timing! I can't even imagine how difficult that must be; I think I'dve been a wreck after either one of those alone. Hope tomorrow goes well, as well as the wait until then.

Thanks sweetie,
And although I didn't post on your thread, I read your update. I can imagine you WERE nervous. I'm so glad it went well. I'm also glad your T was honest about that writing that you found. Do you feel okay about it now?

Take care,
gg

Thanks, gg. I do feel okay about it now, although I still have a few questions which I can probably ask him next week. I came to terms with the fact that I did the search in the first place eventually, and had only been concerned about what the consequences of that might be. Having my pdoc explain what happened and generally handle it very well without implying for a moment that I was bad for having searched relieved that.

Hi GG,

I'll have to try the frozen cookies. If I baked them I'd have to figure out how to turn the oven on.

I'm trying to get up the nerve to talk to my therapist tomorrow about all the bumping me around she's been doing. I'd like to know who these people are who out rank me. She's now being billed to insurance, so it's not like when I had to scrape together the money to pay her. Then again back then I had a standing appointment. Hmm.

Cancelled again yesterday! and bad news, too.

Okay,
My T cancelled again yesterday. I rescheduled for this afternoon, but I don't have a lot of hope. And frankly, even though I really need to see him, I don't have a lot of time, as my inlaws are coming this weekend.

Also, I found out last night that my cousin was admitted to a psych. unit because she was fairly delusional. Apparently she has been diagnosed with Bipolar and ADD in the past, and was abusing stimulants. Please say a prayer, light a candle, or send positive energy her way. She's a very dear girl who is very broken right now.

And send health rays towards my T....

Since inlaws will be here today for the weekend, I won't be online much. I'll try to get on to read, but posting may have to wait until MOnday or Tuesday.

Take are all and have a lovely weekend.

If your in-laws are anything like mine, therapy would be a MUCH needed thing before they arrive! Serioulsy, I am sorry your T cancelled again. He must really be ill. And I will definitely send positive energy and prayers out to the poor girl. It's wonderful that she has people in her family like you who can sympathize and not judge.

I wish you well. Bake some more cookies:)
