Not always a good thing. I have to make sure I drink enough.

Dinah carry a water bottle with you and wait til it's cool as that's when I ride my bike after 6pm. Have you considered bike riding? Breeze makes it much cooler. And it's kind of fun. Love Phillipa

We're starting out closer to seven than six, because it really is hot. I double it with obedience practice, so half the way we do heeling and the other half she can walk at the end of the lead, as she prefers.
This sounds stupid, but I have always been afraid of riding a bike. I only did it when forced. In biking and skating both, you're safer the faster you go. I have trouble with that concept. :)

Dinah who says faster is better never heard that one. So the dog is the reason. I ride a beach bike with a wide seat and no gears so up and down hills don't go fast. Phillipa

No idea how. I've been feeling sick more often than not. Between my migraines and the weather I haven't been walking much, but still...

Dinah I honestly don't know what's wrong with me as the pounds just keep disappearing and I've never in my life felt so horrible. Back aches, no energy, falling asleep could probably cold turkey the benzos that's how bad it is. I do worry about some disease. It's since the surgery. And this horrible fear won't even go to a doc. Love Phillipa

To my surprise, I haven't gained weight at all. I've lost four pounds. I couldn't believe it when my doctor's scale registered that, but so did my own scale.
I hadn't had the nerve to look before.
So why on earth are my clothes tighter than they were before? Some sort of weird weight redistribution?
It's only four pounds, but I'm feeling pretty positive. Since I thought I'd gained about five pounds, I'm nearly ten pounds less than I thought. :)

Dinah,
I think a lot of it has to do with bloating. Some days I'm down a bit more. I never know by the way my clothes fit.

You're losing weight? That's great!
I saw my doctor and he says I need to lose weight by next quarter, or he'll put me on more meds. I was actually sort of looking forward to Byetta until I read that there has been some trouble with pancreatitis. So I suppose I should lose weight.

Dinah,
I'm still holding, but hope to lose 8 more pounds by Thanksgiving. Probably won't, but I'm hoping! I'm down about 18 pounds.

I'm so impressed. And a bit envious. I can't seem to manage self control long term.

I'm down a bit more, but not as much as I want! Why does it have to be so hard?

I seem to be holding steady at where I've been forever.

I gained some, I think. But I just got back my quarterly A1c numbers and they've apparently gone from nearly eight for the last two quarters to 7 this time. So it looks like I've dodged the Byetta bullet for the moment.
I do notice that the range of food I enjoy eating has gone way way down. I went from cutting back to just a bite of dessert to for the most part not wanting to eat them at all. And even my beloved carbs are sometimes too much for me.
So why I keep gaining weight I'm not really sure.

Yeah for dodging bullets! I eat a very narrow range of food now. Still having IBS issues. Sigh, why is it so hard to lose just FIVE more pounds! But I guess with all the stress I am under staying steady is good.

I don't even know.
My clothes are no looser, that's for sure.
I've had very strange food aversions lately. Suddenly I can't stand the taste of catsup. If I get a hamburger with catsup on it, I need to throw the whole thing away. It revolts me. And baked potatoes. I can't bear to eat them. At least not the way they are traditionally served at our house.
I generally have been feeling on the slightly unwell side too, so I don't think I'm eating all that much. But maybe what I am eating is particularly fattening. Or maybe my body chemistry is changing, because I don't feel any thinner.
I didn't mention any of this to my internist, but maybe I will to my ob/gyn when I see her. There's a funny feeling on my left side that I don't think is my imagination. But if it is, and she tells me so, maybe it will go away.
And I've been waking up with horrible headaches many mornings, that tend to linger in effects all day even if I take something for the headache.
I suppose all this adds up the fact that I feel slightly unwell all the time, and dieting isn't on my agenda right now.
Hadn't you lost a lot of weight? It's hard to keep recently lost weight off, or so I find. My body struggles to get back to what it now considers baseline.
