That's a pretty good weight loss. I like your plan for eating healthier. I've been trying to eat healthier. Unfortunately I'm not sure my dieting choices are much wiser than my nondieting ones, healthwise.

>
> From now on, I will only eat vegetables when I eat during my 3:00 break at work. I will have a bowl of cereal for breakfast at 10:30 a.m. For dinner I will have whatever my Mom makes. I will try to eat less. I'll try not to snack on Oreos like I've been doing these 2 weeks.

> Deneb*Just don't overdo it! Make sure you eat some lean protein too...your body needs it.
Eating healthy is awesome, but veggies aren't the only healthy option (however they are great for you!). Your body needs some carbs and protein too! Fruit can be really good and satisfying when you want something sweet. Snacking is fine as long as it's healthy - actually i am SUPPOSED to snack...to keep my metabolism up.
To someone who wants to lose weight but hates to count calories i would say - eat more veggies, but do know which ones to eat. Generally anything darker in color is better for you - dark greens and yellows and even reds. Veggies and lean protein are important, but don't totally cut out the carbs. You can still read labels, even if you don't count calories - just to know what food choices are best. :)

Do you count calories for everything you eat? Isn't it time consuming? I never check the contents, although I tend to be mostly healthy in my eating. Do you get used to counting? It is daunting to think about

I figure that works both because the food is inherently lower in calories, and because it isn't as satisfying so I only eat to live. Thanks, that sounds like a good diet. I think I'll add more veggies to start, I eat a lot of fruit already.

I cheated all weekend. I think there must be some hormonal reason to why I was so famished all of a sudden. I think I'm ovulating, so nature wants me to build a solid nest?
Sugarbusters is a weird diet. For example, carrots are high in the glycemic index, so you aren't supposed to eat carrots. But brown bread is ok. I think there are standards on how unprocessed the bread has to be. I think most fruits are out, but I can see I need to re-read the book since I'm not sure. A couple of my doctors have recommended it now, so I guess it has special value for diabetics.

Do you have food that you cheat with in the house? Maybe you could try not buying certain things.
I think I am too, I have been so hungry lately.>

Today and yesterday were a flop, I have not budged on the scale.

I might need to change the diet I'm on a bit. Or brush up on the details. I don't seem to be losing much weight. And I've been pretty good.
In the end, maybe I do need to count calories.

Is there one thing you can identify as a problem in your diet? I would start with cutting that one thing down or getting rid of it completely. Although you may have already done that. Are you excercising? Adding in a nightly walk could help a lot (says, Adrift who should be doing that now!)

Dinah if 3600 calories are a pound. You need to burn this much to lose just one pound. And the average person needs around l200 calories a day to just live. l tsp of butter is l00calories, and apple around the same. And really if you are sticking to your diet you will probably lose 2 pounds of fat a week. Any more is probably water wt. Love Phillipa ps l mile I think is l00calories. Not easy to lose weight.

Went to the doc for my weight check-up...
I've only lost 3 pounds since last time (about 6 weeks ago?)
He said that's fine, but i think it sucks. He says I should only be losing 3-4 pounds a month, for good permanant weight loss. According to his scales I weigh 203, but that's with about 5-6 pounds of clothes and shoes (which I weigh myself without at home).
I talked to him about my difficulty sleeping again, and finally something is going to be done about it...
He got me an appointment with a sleep specialist at the end of the month. I could have a number of problems - insomnia, sleep apnea, and possibly narcolepsy.
I don;t know much about narcolepsy, but I do know I used to always have troble keeping my eyes open while studying, and today I fell asleep watching tv....hmm.
Too bad I have to wait till aug. 30th.
I want to weigh 130 pounds by next summer, but I've pretty much figured out that's not gonna happen. If I lose 4 pounds a month for 10 months, I'll only be 163.
pppppfffftttt.

Not any self control on my part. Just hormones and water weight.
On the other hand, I feel a bit sickish the last couple of days, so maybe that will translate to some actual weight loss.
I'm also a bit tearful and depressed, which always helps me eat less.

I think recent weight is easier to lose. I wonder if there's scientific backup to my observation.
