Why didn't you say anything nice about anyone? What about me? In your very next post along this thread, how about choosing someone from the Psycho-Babble community and writing just a few words regarding their positive attributes or anything else positive that you like to say about them.

HomelyCygnet is gifted with an extraordinary intelligence and an acute intellect. She is well read and draws from her eclectic knowledge base when she communicates. I need to use a dictionary to read through her posts. I have expanded my vocabulary because of her. She is a free thinker who is passionate about her beliefs; particularly those that involve justice and equal treatment. HomelyCygnet thus makes a formidable foe when she decides to advocate for someone or a cause. Her excellent memory is wholly unfair to have to argue against. She is quite clever and very quick when jousting in a repartee. There is no lack of humor in her posts. She is also very creative. I would love to see some of her writing dealing with subjects not associated with Psycho-Babble. I would be particularly interested in reading essays. I imagine she writes poetry, too. HomelyCygnet dares people to think. She offers intellectual challenges that provide learning opportunities, whether one agrees with her or not.

Dr. Robert Hsiung, AKA Dr. Bob, is mostly altruistic and caring. He is generous with his time and resources to provide the world-wide-web with a site dedicated to the mutual support and education of people who suffer from mental illness.

Dr. Bob is patient, tolerant, and resilient. He has demonstrated a dedication to his bounteous mission, even when he is pelted by a steady stream of odious and vulgar posted messages. It is an interesting phenomenon that Dr. Bob should attract such vitriolic treatment. It would make for a good psychosocial study.

Dr. Bob offers an opportunity to learn civil communication. While his presentations are not always perfect, I find that he provides enough examples to learn from. When some individuals elect to apply the doctor's suggestions, others can learn from them. It seems that people learn aspects of communication by witnessing the communicative behaviors of others. Improving my ability to communicate civilly with others has been one of the most important lessons I have learned on Psycho-Babble. I found that working to express myself more civilly required that I inspect what aspects of my psyche yielded uncivil communication in the first place. I was motivated to improve myself, so I focused on these aspects to resolve them. I feel healthier.

Most fascinatingly, I became a better person with a more balanced psyche as a direct result of learning and practicing civil communication under Dr. Bob's guidance. I became a more civil person only after I began to learn civil communication. Civil communication led to a more civil mind rather than the reverse. Pretty cool.

Pretty cool, indeed! Thanks for posting that,

Sigismund adds to Psycho-Babble a unique personality that offers the humorous to the profound. He sure is different. This is a good thing. He knows a lot of stuff about a lot of stuff, and can contribute positively to any forum. He is an asset who helps to offset boring posts like mine.

Alexandra_k is important to Psycho-Babble as a demonstration of how to communicate honestly. Apparently, she is not terribly concerned with what others think of her observations, perceptions, and opinions. She is a better woman than I am. I find her focus on philosophy to provide a welcome change of pace.

I find Twinleaf to be perhaps the most reasonable member of the community. She is deliberative and civil. I use her as a role model. Her wisdom is very much appreciated by me, and I always read her posts. She is also a reliable source of information and understanding. I like the way she thinks.

Thank you for being able to tease out the silliness in some of my posts. I like hearing that I don't present as having a monotone robotic voice.

Who shall we choose next?

Phillipa.

Phillipa is a voice of unconditional support. She is almost always there first to welcome a new poster and gives them a sense that Psycho-Babble is a safe and nurturing place. It is a rare event that Phillipa allows us to see the RN nurse inside of her. At these times, her writing becomes a sophisticated and cogent display of medical scientific knowledge, understanding, and logic. She must have been a hell of a nurse. I would love to pick her brain, but she is too quick for me, as she hops from thread to thread spreading a preponderance of positive energy.

For me, Emme_V2 presents a well-balanced, deliberative, and scientific mind combined with a sincere and empathetic heart. I always feel fortunate whenever I spot one of her posts. She does a wonderful job of disagreeing with others without being disagreeable. I could probably use a few tweaks to be more like her in this regard. Emme_V2 is a good egg.

10derheart.

Enough said?

No.

10derheart really is tender of heart. She is generous in offering her kindness of spirit to others. However, being tender and fierce are not mutually exclusive. I am delighted to see her assertive side manifest. She has the courage to rebuke accusations or ridicule without hesitancy. She is well balanced in her presentations, even though passion is often the motivator. I like her.

Back to administrative matters

What can be done to prevent the loss of Twinny to the board?

I don't see how she could be any more civil.

Bleauberry.

It is very easy to find nice things to say about Bleauberry, despite how aggressive I have been in challenging the content of his posts. Bleauberry is passionate in his desire to help people. He is willing to explore medical alternatives that are not embraced by mainstream psychiatry. Historically, a great many of the paradigms of traditional medicine have been supplanted by subsequent discoveries. Whereas I disagree with almost every one of Bleauberry's contentions, he remains courteous and polite. He demonstrates more tolerance of my behavior than I do of his. I'll have to learn better ways to communicate with people I so vehemently disagree with and feel the need to challenge.

Kudos to Bleauberry for remaining civil in the face of my confrontational posture.

Dinah.

This is a hard one. Dinah has been an integral and iconic member of the Psycho-Babble community for quite a few years. I am having difficulties finding the words to describe her authentic personality and her dedication to the wellfare of others. She is a seeker. I admire her desire and courage to explore alternative ways of being. Dinah has again and again allowed herself to be vulnerable on Psycho-Babble. I am not so brave as to disclose so much of my thoughts and feelings to others. I am not that strong. She is certainly more civil than I am. That's okay. Psycho-Babble makes a good milieu within which to learn civil communication.

PLEASE MOVE THESE POSTS TO SOCIAL. THEY ARE DESTROYING THE ADMIN BOARD!!!! THEY ARE DRIVING PEOPLE AWAY AND MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO HAVE A DISCUSSION ABOUT ADMINISTRATION.

IF PEOPLE WANT TO TALK ABOUT OTHER POSTERS AND WHAT THEY LIKE ABOUT THEM AND WHATEVER -- MOVE IT TO SOCIAL.

I AM ABOUT TO LEAVE THIS BOARD ALSO, LIKE DINAH, IF THIS CONTINUES. OR POSSIBLY HOLD MY BREATH TILL I TURN BLUE

rjlockhart37

rjlockhart37 is a true success story. What an amazing transformation! His intelligence and insightfulness are stunning. A few years ago, I didn't think he had it in him. He is no longer a troubled boy locked within himself and within his house. He has always been honest with himself and others. I believe this was critical in his maturation and the enhancement of mental health. I like reading his stuff. His young mind can teach my older one in many ways.

Carry on!

All systems go!

ed_uk2010

Ed is easily the most knowledgeable member of the Psycho-Babble community with respect to clinical pharmacology. He is a consummate professional who I like to use as a source of information or to correct my errors. He has caught me on more than one occasion neglecting to address drug-drug interactions. I find his scope and depth of knowledge extraordinary. He blows away any pharmacist I have ever worked with. Ed is compassionate and driven to help people. We are lucky to have him.

This is turning out to be a sort of directory of members. Perhaps we can create one. That is not the sort of thing that belongs on the Social board. I don't know. Maybe it does. I hope Dr. Bob will offer some direction here. It is a complicated issue, I should think. Dr. Bob might need time to deliberate your request. Should all posts that are not expressly administrative be moved to other boards - you know - like most of yours?

Something nice: you are persistent.
