I appreciate having my feelings on this not making for any overstepping of the guidelines. I also appreciate the kindnesses extended. Having had my say and the ability for that expression should hold me for about another year... Seems to be an annual need for me : )

My theory on Deneb's love for Dr. Bob

My theory is that Deneb will continue to post about her love for the (imaginary version of) Dr. Bob until she finds someone to love in real life.

What do you think Deneb? True?

ed_uk2010,
You wrote,[...until she finds xxxxxxx to yyy in rxxx lyyy...].
I am unsure as to what you are wanting to mean here. If you could post answers to the following, then I could have the opportunity to respond accordingly.
1A. Is there a post by Deneb here that states that in her real life she has xx yyy to zzzz?
2A. If so, could you post the link to such?
1B. If there is not a post of the nature in question here, what criteria did you use to make the statement that [(until she finds) sxxx oyy to lzzz in RL]?
2B. redacted by respondent

Hey Glydin,

I'm just curious, do you want to see me blocked for posting my love bob posts?

Do you and others want to punish me for my posts?

Just wondering.

Deneb

Deneb is wondering if people here want to punish her, that they might want her to be blocked. That would feel very bad to me, to feel like others wished I would go away. Seems my worry had merit. I don't want Deneb to feel bad. To me, her love-Bob posts are like the beautiful little butterflies that grace our world.

No, not at all. To me, it's not Deneb who is at fault here. I've made that clear in my communications with the administration.

~~~ If that is the case and those feelings are being felt by Deneb, I can relate as I am experiencing those feelings as well for voicing my feelings.
Again, if there are any other questions/info that could lead to maybe a clearer understanding, I welcome them.
IMO, folks don't have to agree to be respectful to the feelings and needs of others. Giving voice to how I feel is important to me as well as I believe it to be important to you.
Lou, I am unsure as to what you are wanting to mean in your entire post. It is about as clear as a cryptic crossword.
I get the general drift but I feel too old and tired to go clicking on links and reading threads.
I wonder what proportion of the Babble population takes amphetamine?
If I had some of that.....
Take the phrase 'by what criteria'.
Do we need criteria on which to base a comment?
Perhaps we do?
Sounds like philosophy.
Did I have any criteria in mind when I dreamed this up?
I am one hundred percent positive that no one wants you blocked because of your love posts to Dr. Bob. Nor does anyone want to punish you. I don't.
Take care.
Hi Deneb,
To answer your question, no, I definitely do not want to see you or anyone else get punished with a block for posting I-Love-You-Dr-Bob posts.
To me, your ILYDB posts are just another part of the *Babble Landscape*. C'est la vie.
But I was just wondering...
What if someone did say "Yeah, Deneb, I want to punish you and see you blocked for your Love-Bob posts."
Would that affect your Love-Bob posts? Would you stop or lessen the frquency of your Love-Bob posts?
Would that somehow affect the intensity of your love for Dr-Bob?
Would you want to punish the person (who'd like to punish you with a block for your Love-Bob posts) with a block?
"> Why is it that people have a problem with my "I love Dr. Bob" posts and not with all the "I hate Dr. Bob" posts?"
I have a problem with Bob allowing the "I love Dr. Bob' posts on a board that is supposed to be about the administration of the forums.
If you will research the "I hate Dr. Bob" postings, I believe you will see that they always have something to do with administration.
My problem is not with you, it is with Bob's behavior. I do not believe that Bob should allow the posts because I think that is breaking a rule that we have been told to abide by. I feel the posts are inappropriate on this board and would like to see them on Social.
I can't speak for others but I certainly do not think you should be blocked or punished. I think that that issue got way over-blown. I have not seen one post that indicated punishment or a block.
I thought that the rules were put in place for everyone to follow.
Hi Deneb.
> Do you and others want to punish me for my posts?
It is possible, but not probable. I don't. I would venture a guess that more people would like to punish me than would want to punish you. Whether or not this is true, I try to remain honest and true to myself.
My impression from posting here and watching how others respond to you leads me to believe that no one is advocating any kind of punishment for your behavior here. I have a HUGE amount of admiration of you for how you have managed to remain true to yourself and continue to post honestly and openly despite the negative and challenging comments made by others. I see you as being receptive to the ideas of others, and have seen you make adjustments in your behavior and a strengthening of your ego. You are eager to learn, and I see you as having the capacity to make of yourself someone that you will be most proud of.
Some people have suggested that you post such messages on the Social board. Perhaps they would be more appropriate there. I really don't know. However, I would say that Dr. Bob seems most present and alive on the Administration board. It makes sense to me that you would want to be there.
I am not always comfortable seeing your amorous posts to Dr. Bob on the Administration board. I am not sure why. Perhaps it is a reluctance on my part to witness something that I perceive to be so personal and private. I guess this is my problem, though.
I think that my being exposed to your posts for so long has desensitized me to them. I choose not to opine on the desirability of allowing you to continue posting your messages to Dr. Bob on the Administration board. I would prefer to respect the decisions of Dr. Bob on such issues. I remain nonjudgmental of you or your behavior. You are wonderful just being Deneb.
