So how about if we have 2-3 presenters? I'd be happy just to introduce our section and turn it over to you. And I guess it's not too early to start thinking about our portion of the abstract:
> Abstract (300 words or less) - An abstract of up to 300 words [total for the workshop] is required for each submission. The abstract is a concise description of the specific purpose, content, methodology, results, and importance of the proposed presentation. State specific findings and inferences explicitly. End with a concluding statement that provides a strong summary for the abstract.
We could proceed here or by email/babblemail. Or even babblechat. What do you all think?

I'm trying to get back to that, too, but I'm not there yet... Thanks for your patience,

I would prefer chat because it is real-time, but understand how hard that might be to coordinate with everyone. But if we did chat, you would probably want to save a record of what was said or ideas could easily be forgotten. The email/babblemail might only be good for those 1-on-1 conversations you might need to have.
I guess this means I don't know which way to proceed. Too many pro's and cons for each option. Argh! My personal preference would be via chat, but I don't know if that would work for everyone.
I'm interested to hear everyone else's take on this.

Hey, Llurpsie, or thuso or anyone else who might be interested-- is there a time that's good for you?
Maybe we can talk and then chat with Dr. Bob at some time of his convenience.
I have a class Monday, and don't get home until about 10 pm-- so if I grab some dinner-- I could probably be online by 10:30 or 11pm.
I'm also around in the afternoon on Monday, probably after 3 pm until 5:30. The chat is usually less busy in the afternoon-- although that's not always true.
Or I have any time Tuesday (at the moment). If I work in the evening, I'm usually done by 9 pm-- and less exhausted than by the class. But it's also quite possible I won't work Tuesday-- so I might have any time.
Or any other day in the week.

As long as we are talking EST, any time Monday or Tuesday night works for me. I figured it would be around 9-10-ish to accommodate anyone on the west coast. Just let me know when.

i'm assuming (and yes, i know what that means) you'd be using a different room, that way those who normally use the room to talk about bacon sandwhiches, our jammies, how mean mr kk is (or great, depending on my mood), how we can't keep private messages from becoming public (any way to fix that one mister bob? that's administrtive and i have a real problem there!!!!)....
anyway, what i'm saying is
1. i'm not sure what you guys are planning for tuesday night, but i kinda like sitting in chat since i live a rather borign existence and have nto much else to do. i hardly doubt i can keep up with your 'smart' talk, whatever that is. i haven't even been able to open the thread to read it, thus provign my point. your names look rather smart to me, as i am but initials.
2. some of the regular chatters are only able to go to room 2. like i mentioned, i havent' read the rest of the thread, so i may look like a real assumer here (not the first time, but i'm feelign rather bold and confident and not afraid to ask questions).
3. basically, 'what's goign on tomorrow night?' is it going to be one of those 'we can talk abotu 'smart stuff' or we can talk about 'jammies and bacon sandwhiches'? can some one break it down to a girl who just sustained a severe head injury (ok, it's not that severe, but i am rather dramatic.)?
4. is regular chat goign to be open, for those of us who get rather lonely and look forward to taking about bacon sandwhiches?
5. am i spelling sandwhiches right? i have a really bad feelign i'm not.
i'd really like an answer to most of my questions. you don't have to answer number 5. i fear i already knwo the answer to that one...
thank you and not trying to be rude. just trying to catch up and not show up to a black tie affair wearing my jammies eatign a bacon sandwhich,
kk

nevermind, i figured it out.
i'm learning about assuming though :)
i'll be in room 2 in my jammies talking about bacon sandwiches tomorrow night though, if anyone wants to join me. maybe it'll get frisky even? i like sausage too! :)

I just wanna say Hi. Please stay until 10:35 PM EST. You'll make my night.

I missed Dr. Bob! Aaahhh! No fair! I don't get home until 10:30 pm EST on weekdays. I'm never going to chat with Bob. I hate this. I'm upset. I want Bob! I want Bob! I'm sorry, I'm being immature.
:-(
I want Bob. :-(
I want BOB!!!!! AaAaahhhhHH
Can someone record chat verbatim?
I hate this. Sometimes loving Bob makes me feel bad. I get all jealous. I'm going to think of all the times Bob wrote to me.

I think it's important to find a way to include Deneb in the chats about this topic. She has added a lot of insight and participated in the last workshop in Toronto, so she can help explain what that was like too.
Deneb, I'm sorry you feel left out. I would too. :(
I hope next week will be better.

Sorry I missed the one last night. A friend called last minute begging for me to help her move. I didn't end up getting home until midnight. I should be on the next chat though. Anyone take notes?

I'm baffled. Is there a chat room on psycho babble some place? Or is it on some other web site? Or, is it just for a certain group of people? Is there a topic or a particular goal?
Just curious!

Thanks for trying to include me Llurpsie and thuso. :-) You're both sweet.
I'm OK now. I had a bit of a tantrum, but I'm OK again. If my schedule is inconvenient to people, please don't try to accommodate me. I'm not sure I would have anything of value to say in chat. I mostly just want to see Dr. Bob. LOL
We can "chat" on the Yahoo group.

Hi Lonely!
There're two chat rooms here, it's called Babblechat.
http://www.dr-bob.org/cgi-bin/ch/chat.cgi
On the right of the link to Babblechat you can see if there are any people on chat. You use your posting name and password to get into Babblechat. Babblechat is for all registered users on Babble.
Dr. Bob wrote this:
http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/admin/20070702/msgs/770372.html
Anyone can contribute. Just ask when the next chat will be. I don't know 'cause I missed the last one.

Yup. Babblechat
http://www.dr-bob.org/cgi-bin/ch/chat.cgi
You'll find that link is at the bottom of each board's main page. Number next to it tells you how many people are chatting currently.
Follow the link, click on Register for Chat, sign in. You *should* only have to do that (register) once, but the system sometimes has 'issues' only Dr. Bob can fix. Please post here on Admin if it doesn't work for you...
>Or, is it just for a certain group of people?
Nope, it's for anyone who's registered at PB.
>Is there a topic or a particular goal?
Not usually, but this thread is about some research for a presentation in 2008 at the annual APA meeting. Read this thread from the beginning - or at least a few posts up and you will get the details....
Chat is available 24/7, but seems to get heaviest use weeknights about 7-11pm CST, I'd say. People just pop in to talk to each other. Or sometimes they ask on the boards if anyone would like to go there, so they can talk in real time, like if they need company right now, some support, etc.
Go forward in thread:
