Hey Dinah its more a fun thing like personalized lisc plates ..in some cases like mine and others who may or may not do self destructive things..in here it could be a disclaimer....Some people do poems..small, some sayings they like quotes...I do not see how it would prove who one is..as you can change them ever second but its also a form of I guess self expression. Even jokes are used...
> I've never understood the whole thing. I read somewhere it was a good idea so as to prove email was from you, but I never grasped the concept well enough to use it. What on earth are you supposed to put in a signature line? I always assumed it was an electronic copy of your handwritten signature, but that certainly doesn't fit the instructions.

I think you are thinking of 'electronic signatures' which do add a level of security.

I don't want to read the same clever/inspiring quotation over and over. One of the things I like most about this site is the clean, un-cluttered appearance and the general lack of dancing teddy bears. It's Google-esque.

I guess it's my day to follow you around and agree with you! I'm not fond of signature lines either, though, if that's what people want, I guess my opinion is not *that* important, it's not like it's an ethical thing. However I would fight to the death to keep dancing teddy bears, bouncing happy faces, or any other disturbing huggy smooshy psychoticons from being voted in. Italics would be nice though.

Don't get me started on my desire for some basic html *l* Just Italics, Bold and the ability to do a link *g*
I guess I can dream eh?!!

Dr. Bob was all ready to give you a friends board, you could say "Gee Dr. Bob, I don't really need that, but I think having italics and a bold feature would be really nice, and it would be something everyone could use.." ; 0

I like them am not talking about teddy bears but in my case a disclaimer. I will not use the word trigger if I have to type it in every time or tell people to not do what I do IF I have to type it in every time. Tis an option

It's not something I'm crazy about, but I certainly wouldn't fight against it, a lot of people seem to really like them. I'd still like you Fallen : )

But if you used your trigger warning as a signature, it would be at the end of the post, after someone has read what you have written that is potentially triggering..

I don't much like signatures either. I like the uncluttered look.
I would very much like itallics and bold. At the moment I just YELL the words I would itallic. Not too polite.
I like some emoticons. Embarrassed, happy, sad. Some of the emotional ones help add a tone to the post. But I guess you can say what you can emoticon and that is probably a useful skill too...

Thats true I meant to say disclaimer.....I am fed up with trigger anyways whats the point ....to me it seems youre gonna trigger someone some way in here so the whole site should read TRIGGER....I anger over this is most likely why I posted trigger and lol I am not mad at you :)

Ooooh. That's what it means. I thought that was something Yahoo did to people.
But how does it improve security?
