Yeah, I don't think he'd have a problem with me being Dinah there...

Wouldn't it be weird if we came and found that someone we've been chatting with is our cousin or our next door neighbor? Goodness only knows I share things here I wouldn't want anyone IRL to know.

Yep, or a client or classmate, or professor, or T or...yeah, weird, but maybe okay, maybe not. I ran into my physician last night at a political candidate get together. I said hello to him, and we both talked to one State Rep. together, but I don't think he knew me as his patient. Perhaps he thought I was another professional he had met sometime. It was his wife who recognized my name because of a recent insurance hassle. It was an odd feeling. I didn't have a problem with him there, but did have a problem with him thinking I was someone I was not.

What about some sort of virtual meeting for those of us who live too far away to be able to make Chicago? Some sort of wonderful link-up via satellite or something of the kind, with some of the PsychoBabblers acting as commentators. I hate the idea of being left out but 15,000 km is a long way for one weekend.

Good idea! I’ll come for the spring and summer season. Actually I have flown over to New York for a weekend meeting before, and once even to L.A., but that was work related. It nearly killed me too - I was out of commission for about a week afterwards.

Seriously though, are you involving any sponsors? I wouldn’t mind applying to one of the pharmaceutical companies to sponsor my trip, pointing out the uniqueness of this meeting. Paying for therapy three times a week plus international prices for meds in the currency of a developing country has depleted my resources to a large extent.

Or we’ll have to do something about the satellite link.

Please ingnore

Please ignore my last message. I was getting caught up in excess enthusiasm.

Thanks

eek, imagine if she knew about *our* swearfest of a meeting. (not that the swearing would be her biggest concern, but still...it adds to the dangerousness. e.g., sprained tongues are always a big concern among moms.)

Hi crushed,
Moms can just have the filthiest minds when it comes to sprained tongues and how a person gets one. ;) Atti

No worries. I'll steer us in a more administrative direction right away. Do you think Dr. Bob wears pants when administrating PB? ;) Atti

I'm interested, but I think it would be unwise of me to commit to help plan it at the moment.

No problem, what if we just started here with ideas? Which anyone could contribute?

Ok, here's my idea.

We keep it as absolutely anonymous as possible. Which may make staying at the same place completely optional.

I'd like to go as Dinah. My husband would never let me go as anyone else.

Sure, why not? People can be as anonymous as they'd like.

But money might be needed for a deposit on a reservation or something, so I might need to ask for checks?

I'm still up for it and wanting to help plan. Should we decide upon a venue first? Just as a central meeting place?
And yes, I would be willing to offer a deposit to secure a location.
I would be happier to keep it anonymous.

I just wanted to pop in somewhere in this thread....

My circumstances are too subject to factors that I can't control, and as a result, I cannot commit to coming to the gathering. I would like to come, but I may not know if I even can come, until even a week before it is scheduled.

I like that it's going ahead.
