Back during the 'big fires debate' there were many here that wanted him sanctioned for what he was writing. This didn't happen, rightly IMO, because he hadn't broken any objective rules and intent was too subjective.
Now chemist gets blocked for a subjective ruling that he was being sarcastic. Nothing that can be pointed at that any realistic person would agree is accusitory, foul, mean, attacking or whatever.
All of this *after* he posted on admin wanting someone to nip the whole thing in the bud and no help was forthcoming.
Oy.

I appreciate his knowledge, but he definnitly took it a step too far and seemed to always want to be the superior one....He came across as being somewhat childish at times in his demeanor, which was unfortunate, as he did add good insight most of the time....yet we do have many other posters that are also very knowledgable. I think we'll survive without him.

None of the posts on this board...by ANYONE can be guaranteed correct. No ones. We cannot guarantee that any one of us is not spreading falsehoods. I have no idea if chemist is right or wrong on this subject. I also don't know if he was blocked because of what he said on the subject or if the discussion simply became too heated...but unless we are back in the 1700's he still has the right to say it and all of us are free to contradict him.

Dr Bob redirected the discussion to the Admin Board on Babble. Click on the link and it should transport you to it. (Couldn't resist an homage to Scotty.)

This forum is seriously to strict..apparently he was being sarcastic or something and that got him blocked..I just skimmed through it but that's what I got out of it I couldn't see anything else wrong..in my opinion dr. bob goes a little to far trying to keep the peace...

Hi:
Upon having dxed with Bp II close to six years ago, I joined 'Internet Bp support Group' which was SO terrific that there were many, many knowledgeable folks coming to the site with a good informations/inputs to those who need a help very badly, and often E.R. basis. However, this site/Support Group were all gone now due to some of 'languages' used by VERY informative posters. I still grieved VERY deeply over the loss of this 'support' group, because I met a lot of helpful and kind-hearted folks there. A disappearance of that site, 'terrific and wonderful Support Group' was because of 'NON-supervision,' ... simply posters could say anything they wanted. Right before having taken down the site, 'owner'/creater of this site explained the reason clearly with a lot of disappointment ... you, posters did NOT follow 'rules' on the Internet, ... for this, the creater appeared to have gotten into a trouble. Also, there seems a 'cyber cop' or something like that partrolling once awhile. Even here, in Internet there are RULES to follow in order to maintain any of Support Group, not only here, Psycho-Babble also all other S.G.s.
Hopefully, Chemist coming back soon.
H.G.

Please don't jump to conclusions about others or post anything that could lead them to feel accused or put down.
If you or anyone else has questions about this or about posting policies in general, or is interested in alternative ways of expressing oneself, please see the FAQ:
http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/faq.html#civil
Also, follow-ups regarding these issues should be redirected to Psycho-Babble Administration.
Thanks,
Bob

> BobDr.Bob, it seems that the post from chemist here is more an example of irony than sarcasm. An ironic utterance is inherently ambiguous so it seems difficult to use this particular comment as grounds for blocking. If it stood on its own and received no response would he have been banned?

Or if it had received literal responses about the merits of various supplements, nutritional products, etc., as many posters are happy to give?
