>I am still on 3xhalf tabs of tianeptine and
2x 5g adderall
the ADD med i talked my way into as a way to extend the effectivenes of lexapro
it did not work that way
the lexapro slammed me
however, i have always known i am ADD just never could convince the doctors
now i can read non fiction for more than 30 seconds at a time
and i immediately stopped biting my nails and bothering my cuticles (side effect of life and lexapro)
so i am hopeful. thinking i might decrease the adderall as i increase tianeptine - still figuring it all out -- timed it badly yesterday and had a number of hours being pretty ticked off at the universe.
tried to stick with the mantra: it's just the meds, it's just the medsare your medical problems going to keep you housebound?

hi elanor
what does the lexapro do for you? Maybe you'd be better off on just the adderall and the tianeptine (along with your ambien and xanax :) but I'm no doctor.
what do you mean about the bad time you had yesterday? What exactly happened to you? Do you know which drug (or combination) makes you angry? How long have you been on the Lexapro? Has it helped?
I'm personally anti-SSRI, but that's just me. Didn't you say your doctor had given you a script for paxil? Was that to replace the lexapro or were you going to take 2 SSRI's?
Though I actually fought the ADD diagnosis when it was first presented to me, I now wonder what might life might've been like if I'd accepted it a long time ago. The media always uses the young male model as the stereotype and I never related to that. Once I did some research on how it tended to show up in females, it was "oh duh!" LOL
right now I'm home, still recovering from the oral surgery but I hope to be able to get out tomorrow. I have some tests scheduled for the rest... an MRI on thursday and some nerve conduction tests next week. I'm having a lot of problems with joint pain and weakness in my right arm and now, both hands.
I know I have some disc issues in my neck and my lower back but this joint thing has me really concerned. I haven't been able to work out and that alone exacerbates my depression. My pdoc once told me that no pill would help me unless I exercised every day and there is some truth to that. Unfortunately, when I'm really depressed, I don't do what's needed to make myself feel better. I dig my heels in and feel worse!
I feel almost embarrassed writing that - it's so easy for me to blame myself for my problems. Too easy actually. So these current issues have been giving me just what I need to keep spiraling down the toilet... sigh
My fight with the state over becoming licensed is a whole other bag of worms! I won't even go there... but it did basically pull the rug out from under me and made me retreat full time into my lair. It's hard enough battling depression from the inside, but when life on the outside conspires against you, it becomes almost impossible
I need to find some p/t work. Some structure, along with the money I desperately need, would go a long way towards bringing me back. Particularly now, while I'm actually feeling some good effects from the tianeptine. I know there's a window... that once I become 'used' to it, it won't feel as strong, even if it's still working. Breaking my depressive habits are critical for me.
I've been going through one of those phases where the saying: "if it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all" has been too true. I'm hoping things will turn around. It would be nice if they could figure out what's causing the pain and weakness and fix it but I'm not overly optimistic about medicine. More likely I'll have to fight my way through it myself
thanks for asking.. sorry I rambled on
I hope you sort everything out and make it work... sounds like your on your way :)
Good Luck!!

i got a script for paxil bc i was struggling with the decision to go forward with the tianeptine (i had already stopped the lexapro)
and i will continue to get scripts for paxil and fake it bc i need my pdoc and i think he will fire me if he knows about the tianeptine

hi elanor
I totally understand. Though I 'mentioned' being interested in tianeptine to my pdoc, he didn't respond and I saw no reason to tell him I was planning on ordering it. I don't think he'd take kindly to what he'd perceive as my prescribing for myself. He's already shown himself to quite territorial about just who has the power and control LOL
I probably won't mention I went off the wellbutrin. Of course, I'm not totally sure whether I'll stay off it either. I've been taking such a low dose, 100mg in the afternoon, that it might be a good thing to continue.
But it's highly unlikely I'll tell my pdoc I started the tianeptine though I may bring in an article about it to further test his response at my next appointment. IF I can get him to consider it a good idea on his own, then I can pretend to just start it
yes, it IS like being a kid again. well, when you think about it, we were all probably self-medicating anyway. I was a speed freak when I was in high school. Think it had anything to do with having ADD and depression? LOL
hope you're doing well on the adderral/tianeptine/xanax combo. I found 1mg klonopin works well with my focalin in the morning.
I hope you're doing better & better every day
Happy Valentine's Day! :)

I have also noticed that my skin has dried out quite noticeably the last few weeks since I started taking Tianeptine.. is this a common side effect?

It's two weeks on Tianeptine (2 x 12,5 mg).
Quite difficult to sleep early and wake early as well. I end up sleeping at 2 or 3 am and waking up around 11 am. When I wake up, I have some strong drowsiness that lasts about an hour. Then I start getting anxious.
Today was very tough... Quite dysphoric :|
The initial (mild) benefits are gone, but I'm hopeful and don't intend to give up soon, though...
Thought about raising it to 3x day, dunno.
Hope everybody is doing fine
Best wishes,
Ralph

Weird for me, because I had the opposite effect.
My skin got more oily, although I'm not really stable on (stablon? ;) anything the last days...
Hope you're doing well

Where do you get his med from, a pharmacy? Is it available in the US? I have read some about it and wanted to possibly try it down the road if it is something I can find out more about.
Do you take it with other meds or alone?
What type of depression is it best used for?

I get mine from India as well. I assume that we are all talking about the place that requires payment via Western Union instead of accepting credit cards.

I've been on it for one week along with my usual mirtazapine. I've had similar experiences of faituge and similar sleeping issues so far along with a lower mood then usual.

Hi everyone,
I was just wondering if those of you who order tianeptine from overseas could describe for me what your pills look like--I ordered some, Serdia Pharmaceuticals brand, and have been taking it for 4 days now. I definitely don't think it's inert, as I have noticed some good effects for anxiety already, though my mood remains low. I'm just checking on the pills though, b/c after years of taking American drugs with lots of stamps, scoring, etc., my tianeptine looks so...plain? Like a more elliptical white tic-tac, nothing printed on it. The package looks legit, with foil blister-pack of 20 pills each and a 2009 expiration, but I'm just curious about what others have received.
Thanks for reading!
Liz
P.S. - I am taking 2 pills a day now and will go up to 3 soon, as I haven't noticed many side effects.> I get mine from India as well. I assume that we are all talking about the place that requires payment via Western Union instead of accepting credit cards.

it's been about 40 days on Tianeptine, and about two weeks ago I rose to 3x 12,5mg a day.
It's about one week I'm feeling much more alert. The fatigue and excessive sleepiness are gone. My mind is much clearer, great for work.
Anyway I've been experiencing some anxiety and higher emotional sensitivity. This is the bad part of the story. Also, kinda down anyway, plus no humor sense.
No big side effects, except for some mild constipation (I'm trying prunes and a better nutrition to correct that).
My next step is to try to augment it with something that could take care of the anxiety and improve mood.
Hope you're well,
Ralph

Hello,
as I live in Brazil, I don't have to import it. My pills are manufactured in France by Servier (patent holder) and look pretty much like you described. Elliptical white tictacs, nothing printed on them.
Sometimes I wish they came with some cocain or something, not all original I mean. Just a joke.
Best wishes,
Ralph

Oh, good! That makes me feel better. Yeah, Serdia in India is like a subsidiary of Servier, or something like that--their Indian branch, ha. This is my first foray into online pharmaceuticals, but so far it seems to be working out pretty well.
FYI (and maybe TMI), the tianeptine is making me a little constipated too. Hopefully the body adapts and this, ahem, passes.
Thanks for responding,
Liz

I've been on 3x12.5mg for 9 or 10 days now, i started on 2 a day for 3 days before that and the fatigue and lower mood just today is starting to improve and i think i have better recall and memory and my mind feels a little clearer. How is it great for work, do you mean your concentration started to improve to?

The anxiety and mood has been less of an issue for me maybe because i am also taking mirtazapine 45mg and a low dose of quetiapine 25mg for sleep. Also i think i know what you mean about the humour, less spontaneous than usual.

I have had success with Tianeptine,it did take awhile to work for me, so I would stick it out for awhile. its been about 6 or 7 weeks for me.. I noticed a huge improvement by augmenting it with a small amount of SAM-e ( 200 mg twice a day) . i would say that I am in in complete remission , which is a damn miracle. But I am so thankful..

What dose are you taking, I noticed once i felt much better when i accidently took two tablets in the evening, making 4 tabs (good motivation), but I'll give the 3 tabs daily a chance and maybe add some low dose sam-e like you. My main problem is concentration.

I took 400mg SAMe with tianeptine (3/d) this morning, and to my surprise it has worked out well.
I was able to do stuff.Parnate with tianeptine was not good and I spent the day in bed.

I just stopped the Tianeptine to see which, that or the Adderall had shortened my already too short fuse. I was getting argumentive and them teary at times. It was the Tianeptine for sure. I can't do that for 6 or 7 weeks waiting for an improvement.
I am doing well on the Adderall in many ways and I can laugh at times. But the depression is lurking.
Thinking about trying the Tianeptine at night. Gonna give it a bit of thought for a while. Need to get on with things besides figuring out my f*cking meds. Good luck to all.
