i used to be like that so i understand. but there is hope! ... i find that if i go out and approach beautiful women, my fears get focused on things more socially acceptable. plus ativan and celexa help too :)

dunno, today i felt tired earlier, so i went to sleep , slept 5 hours, got up for 3, then slept another 3 or 4 if i remember correctly

i started taking my celexa at night, so hopefully things will get better (i.e. i want my emotions back)...

> How much Abilify are you taking? Today I took 2.5 mg Abilify (one-quarter of a 10 mg tab) and had a very, very productive day.

wow that's not much. what's your diagnosis dude if you don't mind me asking? i'm bipolar type I + ADHD + anxiety i'm taking 3.75 mg and i thought i was the king of microdosing.

> I have almost constant anxiety. This anxiety prevents me from being productive, as I am constantly thinking "forward" instead of in the now. During the past two days I have noticed how well Abilify lessens that anxiety.

hmmm.. really? i thought abilify caused anxiety? but often people who say that mistake "agitation" for "anxiety" (and take higher dosages). I havnt' noticed any increased anxiety from abilify.. but i take ativan for anxiety anyways so i'm cool

> A month on Abilify and I'm still learning how it works.

i love this stuff ... first mood stabilizer i've come across that doesn't sedate me ... and works well too :)

Did you say Abilify lessens anxiety? As lowering your anxiety? I am amazed! My problem was opposite; more anxiety?

Dude! I had some prity serious panic atacks on that abilify, even at home not around people? Or the other. I think they were worse by myself though. Especialy towards the end of my 2 week extravaganza. Sort of like I was going crazy or some thing.

Some major depresive episodes at the end a few days after I had switched back to the zyprexa.

1. Diagnosis: Bipolar II w/Rapid Cycling (very rapid), anxiety disorder, disturbed identify, blah, blah, blah.

2. 2.5 mg - 3.75 mg is still a good dose of Abilify as it is a VERY potent antipsychotic. I'm prescribed it as a mood stabilizer (I think....I don't always trust my shrink to tell me the truth).

3. Initially Abilify increased anxiety but recently it has decreased anxiety, yes decreased. You know the anxiety I'm talking about, that ball of fear in the center of your brain that permeates your entire being.

4. I feel like I'm on speed. It's a nice feeling after feeling DRUGGED on other meds.

5. I also take Zyprexa, Seroquel, Lithium, Lamictal, and Strattera (yes, I'm a walking pharmacy!).

Try taking 2.5 mg Abilify instead of 3.75. You may be surprised. You can always take more later.

Great talking with you! :)

> Where do I go?

a club is my preference, because that way if you are embarassed about what you are saying, no one else can hear (even yourself haha) because of loud music.... also it's dark so that also helps with the feeling of anonymity.... and you don't feel as anxious, because you see other people talking to strangers, and it seems like a natural thing to do... .also people are in high spirits, so they are more likely to enjoy talking with you

i dunno man i NEVER thought i could do it until i actually had a friend take me out and then boom! you just do it, and you go from socially isolated to leading a fulfilling social life ... totally changed my life

oh one thing that really surprised me is talking to people was really terrifying at first, but! what i didn't know is very quickly (after talking to 2 or 3 groups of people) i got used to it and my major fear (BAD social anxiety) turned into EXCITEMENT .... so you have to have some courage, and in my case, some benzos too :)

man i wish i was in the area so we could get together and help each other, you seem like a good guy sebastian

dunno, i decreased my celexa from 55 to 50 mg, and felt my libido go up a lot, but also slept like 12 hours instead of my usual 5-8, arrg

Hey Guys,

Abilify is giving me anxiety, panic attacks and rage. I'm only taking 2.5 - 3.75 mg! I had to take 1.25 mg Zyprexa yesterday to calm down. This is a disappointing setback; I was getting to really like the drug.

oh did you just increase your dose to 3.75? if so, maybe it's just temporary.

I'm not sure exactly how much I'm taking. Cutting up the small pills into fourths or smaller is very difficult. I don't know how much I'm actually ingesting. This is all very distressing. My mood today is very unstable; this rapid cycling is tiring. Lastly, I'm driving those around me nuts!!!!!!

You're taking 3.75 mg, n'est-ce pas? Are you experiencing any panic at that dosage? Help!

Are the 30 mg pills at least .5 cm or bigger in diamiter? Are they hard to cut? I bet its best to fully cut the pills when you take them out. Seems once they hit much air they get soggy. When they come out of the blisters they cut very precisely.

Seb, I cut the Abilify pills when I snap them out of the blister pak. However, the pills are still very small (both the 10 mg tablets and the 15 mg tablets). The 10 mg's are easier to cut into fourths because they are oblong. The 15's are round and much more difficult to cut evenly. My doc gave me both 10 and 15 mg blister paks so I have to learn to cut both types of pills.

My experience today on the Abilify was very, very bad and I'm going to skip a dosing tomorrow. I really like the Zyprexa, but feel that I've become dependent on it for both sleep and mood stabilization.
