Hello to everyone on this board. I've read many of the posts and am having alot of the same withdrawal symptoms. The Cymbalta seemed to literally stop working for me. I have been on 60 mg. for a couple of years. Doctor directed me to step down on it but I insisted on gradually lowering the dose downward every 3 days or so. As best as can be done with "measuring" the pebbles. Doc wanted me off the Cymbalta and onto Prozac as soon as was humanly possible.
So I went from 60 to 50, stayed there 3 days. Dropped to 40 for 3 days. So far, there were no strange side effects. Did 30 for three days. Still okay. Went to 20mg. for 3 days. Still pretty okay. I then stopped the Cymbalta altogether (2 days ago) and took the 20 mg. of Prozac. I thought I was going to die. To say I have sensory disturbances is an understatement. My tongue has become raw feeling and my mouth is so dried out it's unbelievable. The brain shocks are constant. If I move my head or even my eyes, the whole world spins away. Am so nauseaus. And weak and trembly feeling.
Did I drop off the the Cymbalta too fast? I thought I was doing okay with the step-down. Evidently not. Or, is this a reaction to the Prozac? I have a call into the pdoc to get some new directions(?) on what in hell to do.
Can anyone give me any feedback on this? Is it me? The Cymbalta? The Prozac? All of the above? Geez, this is such a mess. Thank you
