My wife suddenly stopped taking Xanex 1.5 mg daily and Klonopin 4 mg daily. She been been off for over a week now and the risk of seizure has probably passed.
She realizes this was a dumb way of stopping.
She is still suffering withdrawal affects, such as: tingling in legs and feet, muscle and bone pains all over her body including chest, headache, earache, stomach throbbing, difficulty sleeping, increased anxiety that comes in waves...
How long can we expect these symptoms to last?
Does it make any sense to get the P-Doc to Rx Klonopin, re-establish the dose and taper.. will that diminish the withdrawal symptoms? Or since she is this far into it, would it be best to just tough it out?
Her P-doc decided that it was best to tough it out and Rx'd Buspar w a taper start of 5 mg 2x daily for 2 days, increase 5mg per dose every 2 days until reaching 20mg 2x per day to help with the panic and anxiety. I gave her 5 mg and within an hour she became highly agitated so I won't be giving anymore buspar
Any words of advise or support would be greatly appreciated.
