In reply to how long for withdrawals; Lexapro?, posted by Spriggy on February 14, 2005, at 22:12:00
Have you talked to your Doctor about the withdrawal? Did you stop cold turkey?
I was on Lexapro for about a year but it was pooping out. That is when my Doctor put me on Effexor. 2 weeks of that was enough so I started weening off. It's been 4 weeks since I stopped the Lexapro and started the Effexor and 5 days since my last Effexor dose. The withdrawal is the worst med experience I have ever had.
I spoke with my Doctor a couple hours ago about my withdrawal symptoms and he said it was definitely from the Effexor as the Lexapro withdrawal should take about a week. He put me back on a low dose Lexapro to get through the withdrawal of Effexor. I took my first pill 1.5 hours ago and some of my symptoms have begun to subside.
You should talk to your Dr. about taking something to help with the withdrawal.
