there was a nice article in the NY times about people who took their laboratory research animals home.

people who studies spiders or turtles because they loved them.

not in a Harry Harlow 'to see what would happen' kind of torture trial way... But wanting to learn about the animal and maybe be able to help them.

and then people who were using the animals, a little more, rather. cockroaches. but then starting to become fonder of them. learning about how they like to move around in the dark. newfound respect.

even the mites. that you would think no empathy for. nasty little critters. lets crush your exoskeleton because we can... developing respect and empathy for their way of life.

and then in teh NZ medical journal there is this article about how many people are put on ventillators for the purposes of organ harvesting only.

that's the cognitive development.

family members. respect for life. or not.

it is good some people never get to work with people.

to see what will happen.

you would need to use doctors for that.

nomally, at least.
