I was married (at least one of my weddings) by a Unitarian mystic. He read an incantation and lit sweetgrass. Then we repeated a Native American blessing. Mind you, this was definitely NOT what we had talked about in our little conference. We thought that he was going to read some verses by a modern Persian writer. Bummer, huh?
