I think you might be right about olanzapine being better than Seroquel. If nothing else, olanzapine is probably a more effective antipsychotic (for schizoid disorders and mania) than Seroquel. When olanzapine was first release, there were reports of it precipitating mania. My doctor at the time mentioned that he and his colleagues had some patients who reacted this way. Olanzapine was approved in September of 1996. I have heard nothing about olanzapine and mania since.
