It gets decarboxylated to the trace amine tryptamine. I don't know if that is active on the trace amine receptors and/or releases monoamines, but it *would* be intuitive if tryptamine *were* to serotonin and MDMA what phenylethylamine (PEA) is to dopamine and (meth)amphetamine.
