I hear you. Yes, there is some tolerance that set's in, with both Lyrica and Neurontin. But that is the case with pretty much any med. Lyrica is especially helpful for my extreme agitation. (I am bipolar 2). Neurontin has run it's course with me. Benzo's do help, but tolerance quickly builds, and they can also cause severe depression.

But I could never quite understand the thinking behind just prescribing a powerful antidepressant without also rx'ing a solid mood stabilizer. Flooding the brain with powerful neurotransmitters without having something as a brake, is what I believe is a true 'chemical imbalance'.
