I think it can, but it wasn't for me.

Due to differences between individuals, I believe that is possible. However, I deem it as more likely to worsen mood than improve it. I've seen mention of a "hypercholinergic mouse model of depression". In my experience, it neither improved nor worsened my depression. You just have to try and see.

>I remember searching the literature (on PubMed) and I found that dextroamphetamine can be used in schizophrenia to mitigate cognitive and negative symptoms. It can worsen positive symptoms, but this was pretty easily addressed by raising the dose of antipsychotics.
I remember there was one abstract, from France, about a schizophrenic who used street amphetamine on and off, and interestingly, he got psychotic while *off* the amphetamines and killed his wife. The authors of the report suggested that the psychosis might be due neurotoxicity of the amphetamines. Personally, I suggest that amphetamines help you to better think "straight" and gives you self-control that helps impulsiveness. In this way, I believe amphetamines have certain indirect antipsychotic effects.
