Benzos are known to contribute to Insomnia. I did a sort of Ashton taper when I went off. I did it very cautiously and my taper took two years. My psychiatrist gives no credence to the benzos contributing to my insomnia, but another doctor does. My sleep has been so atrocious since tapering and stopping the benzos, I think there is a connection.
