I am not a thyroid expert, but I think high thyroid is harder to treat than low thyroid.
Also, there is some evidence that slightly elevated thyroid can be protective against bipolar depression (thyroid has antidepressant and possibly mood stabilization effects).
If the thyroid is only mildly elevated, there may be justification in just leaving it.
How is your heart rate / blood pressure?
Also, you may want to avoid noradrenergic meds (stimulants, wwellbutrin etc) as you may get noradrenergic overstimuation (depending on how high your thyroid is).
