Typically washout period is 5xhalf life of existing drug. NE re-uptakes and SE antagonist some doctor will prescribe concurrently with MAOIs , so that could be a gray area. Drugs that are SRI or SE/DA releasers, I don't think you should deviate.
Your metabolism of certain drugs may vary, so be careful if you choose to deviate. For example gene testing says I'm a very slow metabolizer of effexor and doxepin. Doxepin at low doses is often used for sleep with MAOIs, but I need to be careful because my plasma levels will elevate.
See what your doctor says first of all. Some people will give more cavalier advice based on their own experience or research, but I would hate to be responsible for someone's accident based on science I think i have a grasp on. There are a lot of nuances. So make your decision carefully.
Good luck I spent 6 months on parnate and just switched to Marplan 4 weeks ago. If I can be any help just ask. They can be very rough on the ramp up and these forums were invaluable to me.
Cheers
