I see that lorazepam has a 12 hour half-life, which is nearly identical to alprazolaam. However, the experience of hangover may be different between the two drugs. If the binding affinity of alprazolam is higher than that of lorazepam, you might be able to use a dosage of alprazolam that is low enough to prevent an extended hangover. That's just a guess, though.
