Drug Metabolism and Aging

Posted by alchemy on August 8, 2014, at 0:20:26

I've always just taken my meds in the morning. That makes it easy so I always take them regularly. But as I venture into my 40s, my body seems like it is doing things differently in many areas (not necessarily good things). Is this an age related response or just one of those random changes that can happen at any time? Does anyone else have immediate responses to Celexa or Synthroid?

I've noticed more immediate responses, at least to my Celexa and Synthroid. I've determined this by spacing them out and it only seems like it takes about a half an hour. Celexa will make me sleepy, Synthroid gives me an annoying activated response.

So lately I have been cutting up pills and taking them throughout the day. This makes it too easy to skip a dose. My system seems more easily "swayed" by when I take my drugs in general. I also take Wellbutrin, Lamictal, Xanax XR.
