Generally, paroextine is specifically considered for social anxiety (and other anxieties) along with sertraline (Zoloft) than with with just generalized anxiety and panic disorder alone. A drawback to sertraline is that it may cause nervousness in some patients; therefore, it can be argued that Paxil CR (paroxetine) would be the best run-of-the-mill SSRI to try for anxiety, but this is not conclusive by any means.
