Sorry for butting into the conversation, Chris here, from southern California. I am treatment resistant GAD/depression, have tried just about all the SSRIs (and a couple of the SNRIs) and I'm going to start Nardil next week. I'm kind of stressing about the dietary restrictions, and the possibility of a hypertensive crisis. I hear you guys talking about drinking a lot of coffee and tea to combat Nardil daytime tiredness. I, too, am a big tea drinker. But I thought those drinks, or those drinks in large amounts, were no-nos while on Nardil. Is that true? In your case(s), it sounds like no. And, I'm getting the idea from reading all the material on this website about the MAO-inhibitor diet, that no one really knows for certain how much tyramine is in any food at any given time, so, in essence, the whole thing is a crap shoot (though fortunately one that errs on the side of lower amounts of tyramine). Does that pretty much sum up your understanding too?
