Hi Tepi,
I re-read about agomelatine. It is said to not effect sexual functioning. So that's good. Said to have calming properties, and maybe help reset the sleep wake cycle. Those are all reasons I wanted to try it. Works on melatonin. But it's not available here.
I don't know what to say about the self-medicating piece your doc said. In my experience, when a doctor says that to me, it's because they are having trouble working and observing because I am trying (or just talking about trying) meds too quickly or rejecting a med they suggest. I think that is very valid. But trying news meds is a source of anxiety for me! So it gets tricky. If you get anxious about trying medication, does your doctor know about this?
It sounds like you two are talking more. I don't know. But that would be good.
I don't really understand why cymbalta, but that doesn't mean much. I am guessing that he is trying this combo to try and effect as many different areas of the brain at once.
I haven't read yet about Invega. I imagine if it's an AP it is very expensive. Did you have anything at all good to say about risperdal?
