In reply to Adderall- quitting cold turkey- HELP!, posted by AgentScully on December 7, 2010, at 23:23:53
> I take 60mg of Adderall IR every day and I am quitting it. Just like that- I'm quitting. I've noticed that I've started using it improperly, can't control myself with it and I'm done. I'm not about to develop an addiction. I have a baby daughter. Is there anything I can do to lesson the absolute agony I am about to face? I thought of amineptine, but I think cross-tolerance would render that ineffective. I have curcurim and Namenda to use, but I know this is going to be absolutely terrible- and over Christmas, too. I have a job and a baby to take care of. This snuck up on me. Any tips on getting through it? Any tips on getting through it and minimizing the crushing depression? Thanks
AS,
You wrote,[...Adderall..quiting..is there anything I can do...an addiction..any tips..minimizing the ..depression..?].
The drug comes from amphetamine and the consequences to those taking amphetamine to the point of addiction are well-documented in the liturature. Look up amphetamine and see if it can cause death.
Now your decision to quit taking the drug now presents that problem of the effects from the previous taking of the drug. The withdrawal syndrome is well-documented in the liturature.
Now as you look ahead, you could try to be free from the drug and withdrawal by human achievement. But in my experiance, I have known of people that while in withdrawal they enter a realm of such horror thatthey want to kill themselves. So I try to help them enter a new realm. A realm of peace and hope and joy where one receives a new heart, a new spirit, a new mind and they sing a new song.
I am not permitted by the rules here drafted by Mr. Hsiung to post such here because it comes from a Jewish perspective in relation to the foundation of Judaism in that I believe, through revelation, that the God that I give service and worship to has given me a commandment that I (redacted by respondent). And also I am not permitted to post here where you could find elsewhere what I am not permitted to post here.
But I do want you to live and be free from the drug so I do want you to know that it is possible to do so. And I also want you to know that since I am not permitted to post here what I think could save your life, (redacted by respondent).
