I just started it (I am also taking Cymbalta) and it is extremely sedating and weakening, to the point where I can only take 5 mg at bedtime, not twice a day. I'm wondering if I should stick with it -- Abilify kept me afloat, but doesn't do any wonders.

Hi Anna!I did not like Saphris. I found it too sedating and ineffective as a treatment for my depressive disorder. I found Fanapt less sedating, but it actually made my depression worse. Each individual's psychobiology is unique, and my reactions to a given medication might not match yours. If depression is an issue, Abilify can work very well, although it is perhaps best used as an adjunct to antidepressants. Abilify has its liabilities, though. Some, but not all, people gain weight. It might also raise deleterious serum triglycerides.
Good luck.
