You should at least be cautious with probiotics while on Parnate. I did read one site (I can't remember where) that listed them as something to "avoid" while on MAOI's, and it most likely had something to do with tyramine. As to why, I have no clue; perhaps they are assuming they are milk-derived, in which case they could be similar to cheese. But I do know that there are non-dairy probiotics out there (I know GNC used to sell them).

And "avoid" doesn't always mean the same thing as "never eat/ingest at all." With MAOI's, many foods are not clear-cut.

All I am saying is you may want to look into it before taking huge amounts of them.

And I definitely hope you feel better! I myself am on Parnate, 60 mg.
