In reply to Marplan anyone ?, posted by rculater on August 16, 2010, at 16:57:15
I'm still taking it. Have been since Feb. It's worked well for me although there were a couple guys here w/ Treatment Resistant Depression who didn't have good responses.
I was on Parnate for a few months prior but that didn't work very well and I developed BP spikes after each dose (not diet related). I've been on most everything for depression the last five years and Marplan has really been good for me.
As for side effects I don't have any sexual side effects nor weight gain (actually loss if anything due to a decreased appetite). Sometimes the appetite thing is annoying because I have a hard time coming up with something I'd like to eat....
I don't think it's as strong as Nardil (which I was on once a long time ago but ended up gaining a lot of weight and going manic). That being said I'd recommend trying it. It doesn't make me "feel" good per say but I'm more on point as a person....more myself...focused....so overall I feel better and things have been going pretty well.
As for availability it's back on the market so any normal pharmacy can order it in for you.
Good luck if you give it a go,
-Jay
